Summary:
Senior Scientist will be part of the Preclinical Research group that is devoted to characterizing drug candidates from the Lead Identification to IND-enabling stages.  The ideal candidate will possess in-depth experience in the drug discovery process, especially in the areas of cellular therapies, immunotherapy, and oncology. He/she will be a hands-on technical team lead who has strong communication skills, is able to work in a matrixed and fast paced environment, possesses strong problem-solving abilities, is eager to train research associates, and shows a deep commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities:
  • Carry out a wide range of in vitro and ex vivo studies, including basic cellular functional assays such as activation, proliferation, differentiation, and cytotoxicity
  • Apply research techniques such as multicolor flow cytometry, ELISA, PCR, and IHC
  • Analyze experimental data using software such as FlowJo and GraphPad Prism
  • Conduct IND-enabling studies and write reports
  • Analyze, interpret, and present data to key stake holders
  • Collaborate with In Vivo Pharmacology to design and interpret results from in vivo studies
  • Act as a technical expert in his/her field and provide guidance for internal and external collaborators
  • Ensure that all studies are performed in timely manner with appropriate scientific rigor and appropriate documentation

Qualifications:
  • PhD scientist with a minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral training in academia or industry
  • Familiarity with cell therapies, especially CAR-T and CAR NK
  • Extensive experience in techniques such as flow cytometry, ELISA, PCR, IHC, and multiplexed assays (e.g., Luminex, MSD)
  • Excellent critical thinking and scientific/strategic acumen, with a demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and clearly communicate (orally and in writing) complex biomarker data
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills including the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • A strong entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to be hands on
  • Demonstrated creativity in problem solving
  • Ability to effectively collaborate as part of cross-functional teams and with research partners
  • Proven track record of scientific accomplishments demonstrated by publications in peer reviewed journals
  • Demonstrated openness to ideas and feedback from team members
  • Organized, self-motivated, able to multitask and deliver results with high attention to detail to help drive projects forward in a timely manner.

Salary and Benefits:
  • Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual target bonus and equity
  • The base salary range for this role is $159,000-173,000. Starting pay is determined by multiple job-related factors including a candidate’s skills, education and experience level, benchmark, and internal parity
