The Role:

The Associate Director, MDM Service & Delivery is responsible for operationally leading the Moderna Global and Regional Data Integration & Coordination / MDM Service & Delivery Teams. The Associate Director is owner of the global master data maintenance process within Modernas SAP S/4HANA ERP system and ensures delivery of high-quality master data across the organization efficiently and effectively. This role works across Moderna Technical Development / Clinical & Commercial Operations in a matrix organization serving our internal customers across Supply Chain Management, Regulatory, MS&T, Internal / External Manufacturing & Quality, Finance and Digital Systems.

The Associate Director of Global Supply Chain MDM Service & Delivery is responsible for the SAP materials management relevant master data maintenance process execution across Modernas Global Supply Network. Key focus areas are leadership of an expanding global MDM process execution team, data standards adherence, MDM global process development / enforcement, MDM process execution efficiency, SLA ownership / KPI reporting against SLA and providing master data as a service to our internal customers.

This role requires previous large scale data management experience in a Global SAP environment and experience managing cross functional integration points in materials management, production planning, logistics and execution.

Heres What Youll Do:

  • Lead an expanding Global MDM execution team with focus on process efficiency delivering compliant maintenance of all core supply chain master data objects while enforcing documented maintenance process governed by our Global Policies / Procedures / Supporting Forms & Data Standards.

  • Responsible for the integration of master data and system solutions that support global & local Quality Management System change request workflow / change control process.

  • Serve as owner for MDM Service Level Agreements and implement internal customer reportable KPIs for process efficiency, volume of service provided, data accuracy and analysis of results to identify systemic / process execution deficiencies and drive improvement actions.

  • Ensure smooth MDM service operations throughout product lifecycle by serving as center of expertise for maintaining S/4HANA ERP SCM Master Data attributes according to defined local and global standards.

  • Ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements (including record management) and continuous improvement of quality relevant processes within functional area

  • Supports Supply Chain Strategic Roadmap in the development and maintenance for systems, data, reporting, process optimization, and related change management activities

  • Support development, implementation, and enforcement of our Supply Chain master data governance model

  • Guide implementation of master data business processes and system design solutions for both Clinical and Commercial Supply Chain groups

  • Lead human capital by displaying general management skills and engaging and motivating the team and accompanying resources Indirect accountabilities as a leadership member of the Moderna Global Supply Chain Team

  • Drive performance management process (objective setting, mid and year-end review, and calibration. Deliver annual team objectives including those related to MDM tasks, financial budgets and Compliance.

  • Responsible for recruitment of staff ensuring budgetary consideration and business needs are met

Heres What Youll Bring to the Table:

  • BA/BS preferred in supply chain management, logistics, engineering and/or business administration with 10+ years in pharmaceutical data management and project management.

  • Creativity to develop processes and bring new ideas to the team

  • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues, find solutions to ensure product is effective and timelines are met

  • Direct working knowledge of Master data management in S/4HANA, SAP ECC and SAP-APO.

  • Understanding of overall end-to-end Supply Chain processes. Working knowledge of the Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical industries would be an advantage.

  • Understanding of Quality management in SAP.

  • Understanding of Financial management in SAP.

  • Ability to lead people, in a matrix environment, across Moderna Technical Operations and gain credibility and trust as the company SME for Supply Chain master data.

  • Ability to initiate and lead change to establish the Moderna Master Data governance processes.
