Director, Corporate Strategy

The Corporate Strategy Group partners with R&D and Commercial leaders to advance our strategic agenda and support mission-critical initiatives that will make a real difference for AbbVie’s patients.  The Director, Corporate Strategy will be responsible driving high-impact strategic initiatives, facilitating robust enterprise-level strategic planning, and monitoring and assessing AbbVie’s external environment. He or she will report to the Head of Corporate Strategy Group as part of the Corporate Strategy Office (CSO). This is a highly visible position and could be a springboard to other leadership roles.            

Responsibilities:

• Promote strategic discussions on external trends, competitor strategies and potential disruptors, and translate these to strategic choices
• Shape our corporate priorities; drive clarity and alignment on “where we play” (therapeutic areas, modalities, platform capabilities, etc.)
• Provide internal consulting support for high-priority strategic initiatives that will drive transformative change and position AbbVie for future success
• Provide targeted support for AbbVie’s long-range strategic planning process, including working with leaders to shape their strategic agendas
• Partner with and advise senior management on topics relevant to their own functional areas
• Help communicate our strategy across AbbVie

• Master’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Medicine, Sciences, etc.) preferred
• Minimum of three years of experience in a top-tier consulting firm, preferably with healthcare experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams; pull in business and leverage interdependencies to examine and enable business outcomes
• Basic financial literacy, with strong quantitative and modeling skills and ability to distill complex information to intuitive graphs, tables and other visuals
• Strong oral, facilitation, and written communication skills
