Purpose:

Business Technology Solutions (BTS) Analytics & Information Strategy is an ambitious team of curious data and analytics professionals on a mission to elevate decision-making by AbbVie BTS leadership through timely and relevant insights. We uncover opportunities for BTS by digging into data to find the “why” and “what can we do about it?” Then we ensure progress towards those opportunities through structured analytics and reporting that enables timely action and course correction. We focus on the highest priority challenges for BTS, saying no when needed to protect time during regular working hours for deep analytical creativity and collaborative problem solving. We challenge ourselves to continuously improve the insights we deliver, learning from each other and insights teams across AbbVie.

You will succeed as the Chief Architect, BTS Analytics if you excel at designing complex data structures across diverse source systems that maximize the potential for insight generation to drive the BTS Strategy. Using your deep theoretical and practical understanding of data and systems architecture, the strengths and limitations of available data processing platforms, source system data, and the business processes that generate that source data, you architect a data structure that efficiently meets current needs and anticipates longer-term insight generation potential. You know that an architecture does not drive value until it is effectively implemented, so you take ownership to ensure implementation according to your design, guiding implementation efforts of internal and augmented resources through detailed and structured planning that reflects a robust understanding of the cross-functional contributions needed to deliver results. You articulate and champion your vision amongst the Enterprise and Domain architect communities, influencing others to harmonize their own roadmaps where needed to contribute to your strategic vision. Domains in scope enable the BTS Strategic imperatives, including Unleashing the Power of BTS People and Teams (talent, learning and development, cycle times), Best in Class Employee Experience (collaboration tools utilization, productivity outcomes, satisfaction and engagement), Sustainable Technology (TCO, ROI), and Trust (financial transparency, showback, chargeback).
