The Role

This is a 10-14 week, 7am-3pm internship at the new Moderna Technology Center campus in Norwood, MA. Applicants must be available for the entire duration of the internship. Start dates will be TBD.

The Technical Development Operations organization at Moderna is looking for top talent in science and engineering to deliver on its mission to deliver the greatest possible impact to people through mRNA medicines. Interns will have an opportunity to be part of high-performing operations teams dedicated to providing research-grade product and analytical data for pre-clinical and early/ late phase clinical development. You will apply your educational background and learn new technical skills in the synthesis of mRNA, formulation of drug products, and associated analytical techniques. You will develop a deep understanding of DNA, mRNA, and/or LNP drug product manufacturing processes that consistently deliver mRNA medicines of the highest quality.

Heres What Youll Do

  • Work with a team of highly skilled experts to come up to speed quickly on technology and techniques.

  • Use laboratory, technical and communication skills to generate preclinical material, perform analytical testing, and documentation in a GLP laboratory setting.

  • Support day to day operations at the bench to meet deliverables and customer requirements.

  • Participate in planning, execution, and troubleshooting

  • Characterize mRNA and lipid nanoparticles through collaboration with the analytical team

Heres What Youll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • A high school diploma (or equivalent) currently working towards Biotechnology Certification

  • Strong fundamental scientific techniques and understanding for the daily execution of operations

  • Laboratory skills applicable to bioprocess development and analytical methods
