Executive Dir, Site and Healthcare Ambassadors

The Opportunity

Reporting to the VP, Clinical Development Operations (CDO), you will lead critical activities for CDO including:

• Defining and orchestrating the engagement model for CSL R&D with external partners in regions, countries and healthcare institutions following the strategic and operational goals of the CSL clinical portfolio;
• Ensuring alignment, awareness and seamless execution of all trial related activities at sites, including those among key internal (such as Medical Affairs) and contracted (such as Functional Service Providers (FSPs) and Clinical Research Organizations (CROs)) partners;
• Leading intelligence gathering and reporting, through a global network of data sources, on the evolving needs of the healthcare environments where CSL is targeting Clinical Trial Activity, and advising CSL study teams and TALTs with appropriate expert inputs into the design of trials and programs;
• Directly influencing country/site selection through analysis and ideas, in innovative ways to engage with new geographies and employ models of site engagement;

The Role

• Lead a customer-facing, global organization to build relationships with healthcare institutions and investigators. Ensure site-based customers have a seamless experience working with staff supporting CSL trials. Assure connectivity and orchestration of activities at the site whether through CRO, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs or other CSL staff. Utilize the network to provide critical intelligence assessments to CDO LT and other team members as to the changing healthcare environment for CSL trials, and possible effects for the strategic operational approaches required by CSL to be successful.
• Develop optimal, geographic operational site footprint to deliver all studies in the portfolio to meet corporate strategy. This is achieved with a patient first mentality, ensuring the footprint aligns with epidemiological data and gathered intelligence and establishing the appropriate network of CSL clinical sites that meet the needs of our current and envisioned clinical portfolio.
• Lead the development of program and trial feasibility reports using global intelligence procured from relationships and accessed databases. Provide relevant insight within study teams and TALTs as to opportunities and challenges for executing specific clinical trials and programs. Enable the analysis of alternative designs that may affect cost, time, geographic reach and post-trial access.
• Provide fit for purpose start up tools and support resources to facilitate a rapid, seamless site experience during all aspects of study startup, including contracting/invoicing, regulatory/ethics submissions, technology deployment/training, clinical trial supplies/ancillaries readiness and investigator/staff queries.
• Ensure all aspects of site engagement are compliant and following appropriate risk-based quality management principles, in partnership with RBQM leaders within CDO.
• Directly run clinical studies when such studies are limited to one country and/or strategically lead by Medical Affairs.
• Lead a group of Clinical Trial Educators who serve as specialized resources available to sites learning to execute CSL clinical trials.

Your skills and experience

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required; preference for graduate work in business, marketing, operations, logistics or a healthcare field.
• 15+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience, preferably within R&D, Commercial/Medical Affairs.
• Global people management experience required.
• Direct customer relationship experience preferred.
