Associate Director, Medical Affairs Project Management

We have an exciting opportunity within US Medical Affairs for an Associate Director, Medical Affairs Project Management. This role will be in Foster City, CA.

Works in partnership with the Vice President, USMA Oncology and the USMA Oncology Leadership Team to coordinate, and ensure consistency and efficiency in, all relevant departmental operations and processes. Responsibilities include:

Managing the implementation of the following Medical Affairs processes:
  • USMA Oncology leadership team meetings and activities
  • USMA Oncology Cross-Functional Teams
  • Annual conference travel plans
  • Local (US) strategic planning (Local Medical Affairs Plan, Medical Affairs Plan of Action)
  • Managing the logistical support for US Medical Affairs programs, including but not limited to:
    • Medical Affairs Advisory Programs, as needed
    • Medical Affairs portion of National Meeting
    • USMA Oncology LT and team off-sites
    • Medical Scientists Post-Conference Debrief
    • Learning and Development training events
    • Congress Planning: Serve as the key point of contact
    • Pre- and Post-Congress Training Coordination


Provide support for the following Medical Affairs systems and applications as they pertain to USMA Oncology:
  • MAESTRO
  • G360
  • Complete Spend
  • Datavision
  • Learning Management System
  • Medical Affairs website


Provide the following support for the team:
  • Provision of graphical services to US Medical Affairs
  • Provides training on processes and applications
  • Directly manages annual budget for department, including tracking contracts/SOWs


Knowledge/Skills:
  • Must have a thorough understanding of departmental and company policies, processes
  • Must be an expert in functions listed above
  • Must have demonstrated excellence in leading cross-functional teams
  • Must have demonstrated excellence in developing/growing a functional area
  • Must have demonstrated excellence in working closely with management to develop effective and creative solutions to complex problems
  • Must have demonstrated excellence in mentoring colleagues, improving their skills, and expanding their abilities/knowledge
  • Must have demonstrated success in influencing individuals, and groups outside the immediate control
  • Must have demonstrated success in managing highly complex multiple projects simultaneously


Specific Education and Experience Requirements:

Typically requires an advanced degree Ph.D., PharmD, and 2 years of relevant experience; or an M.S., MBA, and 8 years of experience or a BS/BA degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
