How you will Achieve More with Intellia:

Intellia is seeking an MBA Intern to join our Strategy & Portfolio Management group this summer. Our group is responsible for both New Product Planning and Portfolio Strategy and Analytics, and thus supports the development and implementation of Intellia’s strategy at both the asset at the corporate level. This is an excellent opportunity to understand and contribute to the critical commercial strategy decisions made early in the development process. The internship will provide a robust perspective on the unique possibilities and challenges associated with cell and gene therapies.

Specific activities include (but are not limited to):

  • Conducting detailed landscape assessments (including treatment paradigm, competition, development paradigm, pricing & market access, etc.) to inform commercial planning and strategy for product candidates in early clinical development

  • Supporting early clinical programs through the strategic planning process, including development and execution of cross-functional workshops

  • Developing business case analyses / providing analytical support to inform pipeline strategy and prioritization

  • Under the direction of the VP of Strategy and Portfolio Management, take ownership of a high visibility project to advance Intellia’s mission and support corporate strategy by working cross functionally and creatively to develop case-based solutions to be presented to Senior Leadership

About You:

Ideal candidates will be currently enrolled in a full-time MBA program, set to graduate in 2024. The individual will have a background in science, medicine, and/or the biopharma industry and:

  • Experience with market analytics, market research, forecasting, and competitive intelligence

  • Ability to coordinate large, cross-functional teams toward shared objectives

Meet your future team:

The New Product Planning (NPP) team acts and the commercial subject matter experts for development programs. We are responsible for ensuring the external perspective (e.g., patient, physician) is included in development decisions. This includes ownership of the Target Product Profile (TPP), the competitive landscape, and revenue forecasts. NPP works collaboratively with other functions (e.g., Development. Access and HEOR Strategy, Medical Affairs) to ensure each program is optimized for commercial success.

NPP is part of the larger Strategy and Portfolio Management group, which helps guide executive team decision making around program prioritization, long range planning, and portfolio valuation. During the internship you will have a chance to participate both in cross-functional program activities and learn from your colleagues in the Strategy and Portfolio Management group.

This is a hybrid position, therefore we will look for candidates to be local to Cambridge or open to relocating for the summer. The intern will be required to come into the office 1-2 days a week.

Company

Many of us pursuing work in the biotechnology industry are inspired by a loved one who is living with a disease or the loss of someone in our community. Rare genetic and oncological and immunological diseases not only affect the people living with often debilitating and life-threatening symptoms, but these disorders also significantly impact their families, friends and caregivers.

Our researchers work tirelessly to harness the genome editing technology CRISPR/Cas9 for human therapeutic use. Jennifer Doudna, an Intellia co-founder, and Emmanuelle Charpentier were awarded the 2020 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for their pioneering work in CRISPR. We at Intellia are humbled to have a hand in making what we believe to be medical history. As a leader in this space, we take this responsibility to patients seriously.

We are employing a modular genome editing platform to create diverse in vivo and ex vivo pipelines, spanning a range of therapeutic indications. Guided by this full-spectrum approach, we are committed to making CRISPR/Cas9-based medicines a reality for patients suffering from genetic diseases and to creating novel engineered cell therapies for various cancers and autoimmune diseases.
