Job Description

About the role:

The Infusion Site Specialist is a field-based, external customer-facing member of the US therapeutic area medical unit team, responsible for analyzing, interpreting and disseminating scientific data and disease state education to Advanced Practice Providers, nurses, community physicians and other allied healthcare professionals in order to enhance clinical care, build strategic relationships, and gather medical insights and intelligence from the field to support medical strategy and improve patient outcomes.

How you will contribute:

  • Externally-focused, HCP related activities are expected to comprise a minimum of 80% of responsibilities
  • Builds and maintains professional relationships with Advanced Practice Providers, nurses, community physicians and other allied healthcare professionals per individual territory plans aligned to medical strategy
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge regarding Takeda disease areas and products as well as therapeutic area competitor landscape
  • Coordinates and delivers education through formal presentations, in-services and scientific exchange in a compliant, fair-balanced, and non-misleading manner
  • Displays advanced knowledge of therapeutic area key intelligence topics/questions and effectively collects, interprets, and internally communicates medical insights from HCPs to support medical strategies and/or tactics
  • Identifies and cultivates partnership opportunities between HCPs and Takeda US Medical
  • Participates in executing medical strategy at scientific meetings/congresses and reports information of interest to Takeda
  • Responds to unsolicited HCP medical information inquiries referred by Medical Information within defined timelines and quality standards
  • Completes all administrative responsibilities consistent with SOPs and departmental guidelines including, but not limited to required training, field activity documentation, expense reporting, and other assigned tasks

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's Degree with active RN, NP, or PA licensure; or certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) with current state licensure or certification (as applicable), and a thorough grasp of the pharmaceutical industry
  • 2+ years of healthcare or related experience (nurse/clinical educator, clinical practice, research or academic) following award of degree
  • Possesses strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written, and able to engender trust and respect of peers and superiors.
  • Demonstrates strong presentations skills and the ability to interpret and communicate clinical data
  • Proven track record of teamwork, leadership, timely decision making and results orientation in meeting objectives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Execution of activities within legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements

Desired:

  • Relevant clinical area knowledge and expertise
  • Prior industry experience
  • Clinical, research, or teaching experience

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: One of the following is required:

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner
  • Licensed Physician Assistant
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing with active RN license
  • Bachelor's degree with Registered Dietician certification (RD/RDN)
  • Bachelor's degree with active State's Dietitian license or certification (as applicable)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, etc.)
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Carrying, handling, and reaching for objects

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent travel is required; must be available to travel up to 70% of time, including some overnight and weekend
  • Ability to drive and/or fly to meetings and customers is required
  • Must have clean and valid driver's license

Base Salary Range: $87,500 to $125,000, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short-term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well.
