About the role:

Join Takeda as an Associate Scientist where you will provide testing and automation support to aid biologics development. You will also collaborate cross functionally to implement high throughput assays and automation and conduct transfer of in-process assays and feasibility studies of new molecules on existing platforms with guidance. As part of the In-Process Analytics, you will report to Associate Director, Head of In-Process Analytics.

How you will contribute:
  • Support biologics process development by providing analytical testing on ddPCR, ELISA, CE , LC and other platform within agreed upon turn-around.

  • Transfer automated methods and support automated platforms by troubleshooting issues.

  • Edit/optimize automated scripts on liquid handling robots.

  • Troubleshoot assay related issues.

  • Monitor assay performance to ensure GLP compliance.

  • Maintain equipment and important reagent inventory.

  • Support initiatives related to new technology evaluation and implementation in IPA.

  • Support assay transfers and feasibility studies on existing platforms with guidance.

  • Provide training and mentoring for junior analysts.

  • Present analytical technologies and data at department meetings.

  • Identify and implement improvements to operational processes within function.

  • Represent team on cross functional teams and demonstrate understanding of program and analytical lifecycle, provide input to analytical in-process testing strategy.

  • Travel to Lexington and Cambridge sites to support testing needs based on need.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering or related pharmaceutical science and 7+ years relevant industry experience.

  • Bachelors degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering or related pharmaceutical science; 5+ years relevant industry experience.

  • Masters degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering or related pharmaceutical science; 3+ years relevant industry experience.

  • Previous experience working in lab setting or Masters degree plus appropriate laboratory training.

  • Proficient in use of applicable lab equipment and operations.

  • Experience with a variety of standard biochemical analytical techniques, including but not necessarily limited to ELISA, DNA, cell based assays. Can conduct routine testing and able to conduct limited troubleshooting of multiple methods.

  • Understanding of protein and cell based properties.

  • Able to carry out method feasibility and transfer of methods internally for standard methodologies with some supervision.

  • Able to support evaluation of new equipment/technologies. General lab competencies such as equipment maintenance and compliance activities.

  • Experience with chromatographic and other protein separation principles; Familiarity with use of bio separation equipment and standard analytical assays

  • Liquid handling automation programing and troubleshooting background is needed.

  • Stand and move around in lab for extended period of time.

Base Salary Range: $87,500 $125,000. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.

The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
