Job Description

The mission of the Process, Training and Digital Solutions within Innovation & Data is to drive innovative ways of working to enable a fit-for-purpose clinical trial delivery operating model. We bring together people, process, data and technology with a focus on continuous improvement to deliver medicines to patients faster.

The Director of Digital Solution Management Lead is responsible for developing and managing the strategic roadmap and implementation for the ELEVATE (Enhanced LEarning and innoVAtion in Trial Execution) platform and additional solutions required to enable the clinical trial delivery operating model. ELEVATE serves a resource for functions and external CRO partners / suppliers to access process, accountabilities and key tools that enable ways of working in the clinical trial delivery operating model. ELEVATE is intended to transform the experience for clinical trial delivery functions and maximize efficiencies by ensuring real-time access to information and resources required for end-to-end clinical trial execution. Effective management of ELEVATE will require significant collaboration with clinical trial delivery stakeholders and functional leaders across R&D. The Solution Management lead will work in an agile way with functions and key stakeholders to define the optimal end user experience and prioritize feature epics. The Solution Management team will partner with global and R&D technology experts to delivery key solutions and serve as the business-side expert to deliver key capabilities for the clinical trial delivery operating model.

The Head of Innovation & Change Management is expected to:

  • Oversee and manage direct reports and functional service provider resources creating a culture that fosters people development, inclusion, and innovative ways of working
  • Partner with Process, Training and Digital Solutions and functional leadership to develop the end-to-end strategy for incorporating Future Fit ways of working to enable the clinical trial delivery operating model (analyze, design, develop, implementation, adoption, change management etc.)
  • Develop and own the strategic roadmap for the clinical trial delivery operating model platform in alignment with clinical trial delivery functions business and strategic priorities
  • Partner closely with clinical trial delivery end users (internal and external) to define roadmap and prioritize new features for ELEVATE and to seek feedback on capabilities and usability
  • Serve as the business-side product owner for ELEVATE, leading a cross-functional product team by leveraging Agile methodology
  • Provide strategic oversight to product management, development, enterprise architecture, testing and support teams in partnership with Takeda R&D Technology and Digital Data & Technology teams to ensure release quality and on time delivery, contribute to feature design, and support end-users
  • Drive end user adoption efforts for digital solutions across internal and external stakeholders including providing product demonstrations and onboarding support, and serving as a subject-matter-expert on current and future capabilities
  • Show influential strategic, execution and delivery leadership both within Takeda and outside of Takeda with vendors and partners
  • Provide strategic vision for long-term delivery innovation to continuously optimize ways of working

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • BS, MS or equivalent; Minimum of 10+ years in software development
  • Minimum of 3+ years clinical research experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology field
  • Demonstrated experience in applying Agile methodologies in software development
  • Solid knowledge of clinical trial management and/or GCP compliance processes
  • Experience in problem solving, negotiations and collaborative team building with direct reports and other stakeholders is required
  • Demonstrated ability to positively influence outcomes, key project decisions, and strategic problem-solving
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and present key information objectively to all levels of the organization including executive management
  • Experience in stakeholder relationship management. Influential in orchestrating key stakeholders and project teams to turn vision into reality.
  • Experience with matrix organization, business projects, multi-disciplinary teams or strategic change management projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, business acumen, and enterprise knowledge
  • Understand design thinking and can explain and convince stakeholders.
  • Work with virtual/agile teams in different locations, aligning and adapting different work, culture, and communication styles

Base Salary Range: $160,300 to $229,000. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.

The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
