Job Description

About the role:

As Senior Research Associate- Molecular and Cellular Assays, you will help develop and execute molecular and cellular assays to support cell therapy platforms such as Cord Blood-Derived NK Cells (CB-NK Cells) and Gamma Delta T Cells (GDT Cells). You will work in collaboration with other scientists or with minimal supervision, plans and executes molecular and cellular assays to deliver data as part of discovery efforts within the cell therapy platform. Prepare study protocols, reports, technology transfer documentation, and regulatory documents for different studies. Present study results at team or department meetings, to external partners or at conferences.

How you will contribute:
  • Work with departmental or peers to implement assignments
  • Responsible for technical aspects of a project
  • Prepare complex experimental protocols.
  • Contribute to project work within functional area.
  • Review, interpret and communicate data internally (e.g., to supervisor, project teams) and prepares technical reports.
  • Propose and implement resolutions to technical problems
  • Design experiments/unit operations independently including follow up experiments.
  • Help develop project strategy and communicate complex data/decisions
  • Be a technical resource for junior staff and use your experience in laboratory technology as a functional resource/trainer.
  • Coordinate within departmental and with peers on project work

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in molecular biology, immunology, cell biology or related pharmaceutical science; 2+ years relevant industry experience
  • Masters degree in Immunology, molecular biology, biomedical engineering or related pharmaceutical science; 0+ years relevant industry experience
  • Previous experience working in lab setting
  • Experience developing and running molecular biology assays (ddPCR, qPCR, NGS, etc)
  • Experience culturing primary human immune cells ( such as T cell or NK cell experience ) in a cell therapy setting
  • Experience performing cell-based functional assays, such as cytotoxicity, proliferation, or cytokine release
  • Experience with flow cytometry, luminescence, or fluorescence-based assays
  • Previous experience with NGS is
  • Experience with viral transduction (retrovirus or lentivirus)
  • Experience with modern molecular cloning techniques (such as Gibson assembly or Golden Gate)
  • Experience with DNA library construction and validation

Base Salary Range: $ 79,800 to $ 114,000. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.

The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
