Job Description6OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE
The Drug Discovery Sciences (DDS) department at Takeda is looking for an accomplished Research Scientist I-RNA bioinformatics. You will have excellent computational skills and the ability to perform integrative analyses of next-generation sequencing datasets to characterize RNA targets for drug discovery research.
You will work with researchers across multiple teams within the DDS department, Takeda's Drug Discovery Units, and with contract research organizations (CROs). You will also present work at national and international conferences.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Independently analyze NGS datasets generated in-house or available in public repositories
- Perform meta- and single-gene analyses of RNA features
- Perform integrative analyses of multiple NGS dataset types
- Develop and implement established workflows for analysis of NGS datasets derived from conventional and custom-made cDNA libraries
- Collaborate with project team members
- Seek solutions when encountering experimental obstacles
- Contribute to functional scientific discussion
DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS
- Demonstrated independent scientific and technical thought and creativity
- Displayed method development skills and hands-on experience in analysis and integration of several transcriptome-profiling datasets (RNA-seq, Ribo-seq, CLIP-seq, SHAPE-seq).
- Acted as a recognized scientific expert on a previous discovery team
- Demonstrated project engagement skills
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
- PhD degree in Systems/Computational Biology or related field, or
- MS with 6+ years experience, or
- BS with 8+ years experience
Base Salary Range: $102,200- 146,000K. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
