Job Description

Job Title: Manager IT Operations

Location: Round Lake, IL

About the role:
  • You will plan and set direction for a team, group or service delivery area within a given IT function (such as technology and applications). Will also manage all activities of internal/external resources within the group or service delivery area. You will be asked to also be responsible for budget commitments and forecasting for the group or service delivery area.

How you will contribute:

• Assist clients in identifying, understanding and responding to opportunities for cost-effective innovation and adherence to corporate policy.

• Manage activities of all internal/external resources on projects or service deliverables.

• Accountable for one or more business systems or technologies.

• Manage local technical support structure for one or more business systems.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Requires a bachelor's' degree in information technology or related technical field with 6+ years of related experience with 1+ years as a supervisor (for people manager role).

• Demonstrate solid technical knowledge, demonstrate solid business knowledge, require limited direction, give direction, handle complex problems, have knowledge of the policies, standards and procedures

• Provide guidance of individuals including mentoring, onboarding, performance management, and staffing decisions.

• Set team, group or service goals and ensure they align with the IT vision and the teams' daily activities.

• Manage timelines and schedules.

• Work with customers to understand their business and to anticipate needed IT solutions.

• Review team, group and service deliverables to ensure quality (design walk-through, test results) and adherence to the processes, standards and regulatory requirements.

• Participate in the budget process and monitor the budget. Assist the business with IT capital and operating expense investment requirements.

• Participate in the research, selection, implementation and validation of new technologies and services.

• Gather relevant productivity metrics.

• Manage or participate on projects.

• Manage training and support plans for users on new technologies, applications or business systems.

• Work with customers to understand their business and to anticipate IT solutions based on business and technical knowledge. Manage (educate and influence) the business process owner.

• Knowledge of the IT application development process.

• Project or team leadership required.

• Good sense of business knowledge.

• Guide, coach, motivate, inspire and influence.

• Track record on delivering projects.

• Leadership experience.

• Experience with GMP systems and IT systems change management process.

• Identify, investigate, analyze, propose and document appropriate solutions for issues that may improve the business or operations.

Important Considerations:

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
  • Work in a cold, wet environment.
  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
