Who We Are

For more than two decades, going our own way has led to countless breakthroughs, bettering the lives of those suffering from rare genetic disease. In 1997 we were founded to make a big difference in small patient populations. Now we seek to make an even greater impact by applying the same science-driven, patient-forward approach that propelled our last 25 years of drug development to larger genetic disorders, as well as genetic subsets of more common conditions. Through our unparalleled expertise in genetics and molecular biology, we will continue to develop targeted therapies that address the root cause of the conditions we seek to treat. Applying our knowledge to make a transformative impact is not just a calling, but an obligation to those who will benefit most. The end goal has always been better lives and now we can reach more.

And the more people we reach, the more our impact can grow. We transform lives through genetic discovery.

Our Culture

Our desire to make a positive impact on our patients extends to our employees and BioMarin is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every person feels seen, valued, and heard – so employees can thrive in all areas of their lives, in and outside of work. We seek to provide an open, flexible, and friendly work environment to empower people and to provide them with the ability to develop their long-term careers. Ultimately, we want to be an organization where people enjoy coming to work and take pride in our efforts to help patients.

By providing a foundation for all operations company wide, BioMarin’s General and Administrative teams support our mission of providing first and best in class therapeutics to patients who live with rare diseases. Our teams include groups such as finance, legal, human resources, corporate compliance and ethics, and information technology. Come join our team and make a meaningful impact on patients’ lives

BioMarin is the world leader in delivering therapeutics that provide meaningful advances to patients who live with serious and life-threatening rare genetic diseases. We target diseases that lack effective therapies and affect relatively small numbers of patients, many of whom are children. These conditions are often inherited, difficult to diagnose, progressively debilitating and have few, if any, treatment options. BioMarin will continue to focus on advancing therapies that are the first or best of their kind.

BioMarin is emerging as a leading Biopharma company with approximately $2 billion in revenues, presence in 79 countries, a robust R&D pipeline, operating profits, and world-class technical capabilities through its 3,000 employees. The Company has experienced substantial organic growth since its inception, primarily over the last decade. With increases in cost structure and staff, leadership is looking to optimize the efficiency of its operations as it enters the next phase of growth.

The "Enterprise Resource Planning" (ERP) company-wide operational initiative was launched in 2022. An effective ERP will bridge processes and data to meet the needs of a maturing and growing organization. Implementing a new ERP system is critical for supporting our patients, people, and long-term financial objectives.

The Senior Manager of FP&A Systems & ERP will report to the Senior Finance Director of Global FP&A and serve as the FP&A lead on the ERP leadership team. This role will influence the design of future-state FP&A processes and reporting. They will ensure that current and new requirements are captured and implemented across all ERP workstreams. Throughout implementation, the Senior Manager will also liaise with IT to support existing FP&A applications and drive the continuity of financial planning processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Current FP&A System & Process Support (~25% of role):  Serve as the primary liaison between finance and IT in supporting and maintaining existing planning and reporting applications. Develop a deep understanding of end-to-end data flow, master data hierarchies, and linkages to multiple applications. Prepare the planning application in advance of each planning cycle. Assist IT with system troubleshooting, reconciliations, master data change requests, security, and training. Work with ERP, FP&A and IT to drive continuity of planning processes throughout the multi-phase ERP implementation.

FP&A Principles in Workstreams (~50% of role):  Partner with finance leadership in designing future-state FP&A requirements, including master data, management reporting, standard costing, program allocations, and general process flows. Manage cross-functional stakeholders, challenge status-quo and influence multiple levels within the organization.

General Program Strategy, Workshops, and External Engagement (~15% of role):  Collaborate with the ERP leadership team to provide strategic vision across the program. Provide input into the design and 'new ways of thinking' required to ready BioMarin for the future – both within finance and across the enterprise. A vital element of the role will be to step "outside" of the program's day-to-day management to provide essential thought partnership to the ERP leader on how the program can evolve BioMarin to enable our future.

Change management (~10% of role):  Function as a change agent to maximize employee and finance leadership adoption of critical initiatives and operating model changes to increase value from SAP investments. Develop and maintain effective "trusted advisor" relationships with stakeholders – including senior leaders – to provide credible insight and advice about leveraging technology for business effectiveness. Company

BioMarin is a global biotechnology company dedicated to transforming lives through genetic discovery. In 1997, the company was founded to make a big difference in small patient populations, focusing on giving much-needed attention to the underserved communities of those with rare diseases. BioMarin sought to help patients whose voices could not always be heard and treat conditions that were not always in mainstream medical conversations. Throughout its history, BioMarin has worked tirelessly to make a difference by pursuing bold science. The company’s first approved therapy was inspired by a father who refused to accept there was no therapy for his son’s rare diagnosis. That relentless pursuit to change the course of his son’s future through the power of science is at the core of who BioMarin is today.

Through the company’s expertise in genetics and molecular biology, BioMarin has developed eight first or best-in-class targeted therapies that address the root cause of the conditions it seeks to treat, helping to better the lives of those struggling with rare genetic disease. The company’s purposeful and scientifically precise team of physicians and scientists has honed each treatment modality to seek transformative therapies.

Now, BioMarin seeks to make an even greater impact by applying the same science-driven, patient-forward approach that propelled the last 25 plus years of drug development to larger genetic disorders, as well as genetic subsets of more common conditions. Each drug candidate pursued is guided by a fundamental understanding of the genetics and underlying biology of the condition it will address. The company believes that applying its knowledge to make a transformative impact is not just a calling, but an obligation to those who will benefit most. The more innovative solutions developed, the more lives BioMarin can impact.
