Summary

The Sr. Director, Head of Global Oncology Scientific Engagement will oversee the management and execution of activities in support of Scientific Engagement strategies and plan for the Global Oncology Medical Affairs organization. This position is responsible for combining understanding of the medical landscape and insights from key external healthcare stakeholders to create comprehensive scientific engagement plans to support the overall business strategy.


Responsibilities

  • The Sr. Director, Head of Global Oncology Scientific Engagement will lead the overall Global Oncology Scientific Engagement function and oversee the management and execution of activities in support of Scientific Engagement strategies and plan for the Global Oncology Medical Affairs organization. Accountable for developing and implementing global policies and processes regarding Scientific Interactions with Key External Experts (KEEs) and providing guidance to regions conducting these activities.
  • Build and lead a high performing team of Scientific Engagement leads accountable for:
    • Developing the KEE engagement strategy and plan. Development of, or updating to, Key External Experts (KEE) mapping and engagement plans, and related systems used for global coordination of medical activities.
    • Identifying, establishing and/or enhancing relationships and partnerships with global KEEs and key academic institutions through coordination and partnership with internal key stakeholders.
    • Collating medical insights from key global/regional/local medical activities in coordination with the GMA TA lead and other cross-functional stakeholders, to help inform and adapt the overall medical plan for the respective TA
  • Provide overall direction regarding coordination of KEE engagements at major congresses, in collaboration with regional and country medical leads and other cross-functional stakeholders
  • Oversee planning, management, and execution of global medical Advisory Boards and/or other input-seeking medical activities in alignment with GMAT lead, GPT and regions, agree on list of KEEs, define the objective and agenda. Support the GMAT lead in interactions with KEEs
  • Identify and implement new technologies for KEE mapping and insight generation.


Qualifications: Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Master's Degree Advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD) preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • 10 or More Years of global pharmaceutical (or equivalent) industry experience required.
  • 7 or More Years Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams with demonstrated achievements preferred.

Ability to travel up to 30% Business Travel
