In this role the Facilities Engineer for the new Amgen Advanced Assembly and Final Product Operation facility will be part of the Facilities & Engineering team responsible for providing maintenance leadership and technical expertise in support of safe and reliable facility infrastructure, facility equipment/systems, utility systems, and/or production suites, ensures systems operate within designed parameters within GMP assembly, packaging and warehouse operations. The area of responsibility may consist of multiple facilities, subject areas, or clients. All work to be completed to assure minimal impact to production while staying in sync with all cGMP guidelines and Amgen procedures.

  • Strictly follow the companys safety and cGMP policies and procedures.
  • Determining facility and equipment specifications.
  • Coordinating and leading all aspects of contractors performing maintenance activities.
  • Maximo (CMMS) System Owner for Facility Infrastructure Locations and Assets
  • Ensure preventive maintenance related to Facility Maintenance is in place using reliability engineering principles.
  • Manage the development and revision of related Standard Operating Procedures and Job plans for the area of responsibility to assure all maintenance operations are performed safely and reliably
  • Interact with various support departments and/or outside vendors and provide full maintenance support to meet the needs of the operations groups for all related equipment for the plant
  • Provide subject matter expertise for facility-related expansion and or capital projects.
  • Ensure vendors performing maintenance are scheduled on time with respective JHA and PWP prior to work.
  • In collaboration with the COE, ensure ISPs keep the service level agreements monthly.
  • Ensure ISP quality contracts are up to date.
  • Provide oversight on the quality of job performed in GMP areas infrastructure.
  • Onboard new vendors or providers as required per business needs.
  • Maintaining site Pest Control Program in accordance with Amgen Standards.
  • Owner of Site Cleaning Program for GMP and Non-GMP areas
  • Drawing management for Facilities and Supporting areas.

Basic Qualifications:

High school/GED + 4 years Facilities Management and/or Engineering work experience

OR

Associates + 2 years Facilities Management and/or Engineering work experience

OR

Bachelors + 6 months Facilities Management and/or Engineering work experience

OR

Master's

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Civil) or building maintenance, Mechanical maintenance, Plant engineering or related technical subject area experience
  • Experience in an FDA (GMP) or comparable regulated environment preferably Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology industry
  • Plant and applicable industry regulation knowledge / expertise
  • Strong mechanical and/or infrastructure capability with hands on experience in a technical role within a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience with RCM, TPM or other reliability centered concepts
  • Ability working multi-functionally, delivering technical solutions and implementing improvements.
  • Knowledge of the project management cycle and how to support in the development/delivery of a project.
  • Experience managing drawing management systems
  • Experience managing GMP facility cleaning and pest control programs
  • Experience managing integrated service providers
  • Solid leadership abilities and experience working in a team environment, embracing an interdependent working culture that delivers results
  • Technical report writing and communication/presentation skills
  • Data driven decision maker
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment

This position will be paid on an hourly basis. The annualized base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $41.00 to $49.91/hr.
