Job Details

Molecular Templates, Inc. (MTEM) is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of biologic therapeutics for the treatment of cancer and other serious diseases. The company primarily develops a pipeline of therapies through its proprietary biologic engineered toxin body (ETB) drug platform with unique mechanisms of actions which are highly differentiated from antibody drug conjugates (ADCs). MTEM is developing MT-6402, which is in a Phase I clinical trial for PD-1/PD-L1 antibody relapsed/refractory patients; MT-5111, which is in a Phase I clinical trial for the treatment of HER2-positive cancers; and MT-0169, which is in a Phase I clinical trial to treat relapsed/refractory myeloma. Position Overview: 

 

The Laboratory Assistant will primarily perform laboratory housekeeping duties, such as glassware cleaning and sterilization and waste disposal. The ideal candidate must be available to work part-time approximately 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 12:00 - 4:00PM CST. This position will require excellent organizational and time-management skills, ability to follow verbal and written instruction, plus ability to prioritize tasks. 

 

 

Job Responsibilities: 

 

  • Collect, wash, clean and sterilize used glassware, equipment and supplies using proper sterilization techniques 

  • Distribute and maintain glassware in laboratories  

  • Prepare media and solutions per established guidelines 

  • Stock and maintain laboratory supplies 

  • Sterilize and conduct waste disposal using autoclave 

  • Complete additional tasks or projects, as needed  

 

 

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required; Associates degree, preferred 

  • Relevant experience in laboratory setting with experience with glassware sterilization techniques, preferred 

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills 

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction and work under supervision 

  • Ability to always follow safety protocol 

  • Ability to demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality 

 

Physical Requirements: 

 

  • Ability to regularly move materials weighing up to 30 pounds to a shelf located 4-6 feet in height 

  • Stand for long periods of time 

  • At times, it will be required to sit for long periods of time 

  • Bend twist, push/pull, crouch, kneel 

  • Read and understand chemical labels 

  • Finger dexterity is required to manipulate objects, for example, keypads on laboratory equipment, keyboard, phone, fax/copy/scanning machine, calculator, label maker, etc. 

 

 

Reporting Structure: 

 

This position reports to onsite Lab Supervisor.
