Job Summary

Manages the daily operations of production filling areas to maximize the productivity of the department through optimum use of equipment, processes, and personnel.

 

Job Details

This position is responsible for the following:

  • Plan efficient methods of production filling of product and ensuring that correct procedures are followed in compliance with regulatory and corporate policies.
  • Ensure that production filling schedules are met in support of customer demand.
  • Interpret administrative policies for employees, reviews supervisor’s performance, and in conjunction with HR, makes decisions regarding personnel actions (hiring, terminations, promotions, etc.).
  • Administer the EHS program in the area to ensure safe working practices.
  • Accomplish results through the effective management of supervisors and personnel in manufacturing and the design and deployment of efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Make sound decisions or recommendations regarding considerable expenditures of time, human resources, and funds.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist in achieving environmental, health, and safety goals by working safely and observing all general plant and department safety policies.
  • Perform all assigned duties according to departmental SOP’s and cGMP’s.
  • Remain current on proper procedures by reviewing current, revised, and new SOP’s relating to the job and to the department.
  • Complete and remain current with all required cGMP and safety training.
  • Assist Maintenance Technicians with basic mechanical adjustments as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Minimum requirements for this position are:

Education

B.S. or B.A. in Business or Technical Field required; MBA preferred.

Experience: Supervisory

Eight (8) years of experience in supervision.

Experience: Certifications

Green Belt certification or ability to become certified

Experience: BT Systems

Proficient in Microsoft Word or Excel

Experience: Regulatory

Departmental management experience in an FDA regulated environment.

Experience: Aseptic

Five (5) years of experience in aseptic processing in an FDA regulated environment preferred.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • In-depth understanding of management and technical details of the manufacturing processes, including cGMP/QSR. 
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial ability.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.  
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work and communicate with others in a professional and effective manner, within a team-oriented environment.
  • Basic user knowledge and understanding of Windows based computer systems such as Microsoft Office, with an ability to learn other computer-based systems.
  • Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs. for men and 35 lbs. for women.
