Position Summary & Role (general description of the role, e.g., expectations, key milestones, impact)
The Technician II, QC Sample Control reports to the Supervisor, QC Sample Control. The Technician II, QC Sample Control performs sample control, inventory, logging and issuance of samples and standards for testing, as well as introductory administrative duties, using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Job Responsibilities (core responsibilities; include people management if applicable)
- Receives, logs, stores and tracks samples and standards submitted to the QC laboratories for internal or external analysis and stability studies using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Data entry of sample and storage information into LIMS
- Labels samples and creates testing folders for in-house and external testing
- Writes and reviews Standard Operating Procedures
- Monitors storage chambers temperatures and humidity using electronic environmental control software and responds to alarms appropriately
- Assists with non-conformance and change control documentation and electronic records in the Quality Management System
- Performs routine inventory and testing of retain samples
- Performs routine sample inventory of storage chambers
- Performs regular daily activities to promote a clean and safe work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned and directed
Preferred Experience, Education & Qualifications (Education/Degrees/Certifications)
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, 2+ years of laboratory experience required.
- Exceptional attention to detail and documentation
- Excellent written and oral communication required.
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
- Good organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment at times.
- GMP or aseptic technique experience preferred.
- Familiarity with software databases or LIMS a plus.

This job requires the employee to perform the following type of physical work:
- Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
- Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. This job requires the following visual acuity requirements:
- preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
