Who We Are

RefleXion is developing the SCINTIX™ biology-guided radiotherapy* machine that is the first to utilize the cancer’s biology itself to control radiation delivery, even in tumors that are moving. By using positron emission tomography (PET), RefleXion’s platform enables a leap forward in the ongoing goal of conventional radiotherapy to manage motion, and potentially diminish radiation toxicity, making it feasible to one day provide more options for patients with advanced stage cancer.  

Currently, the RefleXion X1 machine is cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the delivery of stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT).

About This Role

The Senior Software Engineer works as part of a team of talented software developers in radiotherapy treatment delivery, planning and medical imaging. RefleXion utilizes a multi-modality PET and CT system for biology-guided radiotherapy. The Senior Software Engineer will lead and participate in the definition of the architecture, drive requirements, prototyping, designing and implementation for a suite of single page web applications that will be used to service and support the RefleXion System through the development of sophisticated user interfaces that allows to control, calibrate, test and troubleshoot the system.

The Senior Software Engineer will have good leadership and collaboration skills to work with a multi-disciplinary team of embedded software developers, product managers and service engineers to support development of applications and associated system framework for Treatment Planning and Treatment Delivery for the RefleXion System.  The Senior Software Engineer will work with a team of software developers to support development and troubleshooting of the application software for the RefleXion System using modern web development technologies. They will engage on any and every issue necessary to ship products to customers of the highest quality and reliability.

What You Will Be Doing

• Acts as a technical leader and team member within the RefleXion software development team
• Lead early-stage research/prototyping work to establish feasibility of new features
• Support and troubleshooting of the application software using the RefleXion System
• Develops tools required for efficient support of the RefleXion System
• Participates in design and implementation of RefleXion’s suite of applications, utilizing modern web development technologies
• Perform software risk analysis and implement mitigations
• Drive architecture, design, and code reviews
• Completes required testing and documentation to support product release and regulatory submissions
• Other duties as assigned

Where You Will Do This Job  

• Hybrid - This position will allow the successful candidate to work on a Hybrid work location schedule. They must be based in the greater SF Bay Area and must be able to commute into the RefleXion office in Hayward 1-4 days a week, depending on the role.

What We Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or commensurate industry experience
• 5-7+ years of developing commercial software products
• Expert in JavaScript, TypeScript and modern ECMAScript editions
• Expert in Angular 4 or later
• Knowledge of document driven NoSQL databases, e.g., MongoDB or CouchDB
• Strong collaboration skills

The pay range for this role is $120,000 - $220,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable variable compensation.
