The Director of Infrastructure Network Operations is responsible for providing people, technology and business leadership to the organization in the areas of the Network Operations. This role is responsible for all aspect of Ops Center including the transformation of the Ops Center.

Responsibilities of the Director, IT Network Operations include:
  • Transform the Network Operations from the traditional model to a cloud adapted, highly agile (to changing technology, IT approaches and business needs), and cost effective set of capabilities
  • Serve in a leadership position to promote and bring on the Cloud culture and technologies along with other Infrastructure Leaders
  • Transform the global networking to be a centerpiece to improve reliability, availability, agility and cost efficiency for all applications, systems and infrastructure
  • Champion the connectivity and Network needs of customers, business teams, stakeholders, ensuring that what is delivered meets the original goals and objectives
  • Lead the Network in all aspects of Disaster Recovery for Gilead
  • Lead Managed Service Providers to deliver services for Networking and cost management
  • Designing and managing the metrics of the global network, including Availability, Performance and business value KPI's
  • Serve as Management Incident Commander with On-Call Rotation
  • Take accountability to drive service interruption root causes to full resolution, working closely with the Problem Management Team-take every opportunity to improve the effectiveness of Network Operations towards service interruption prevention
  • Serve in leadership role in resolving service impacting issues
  • Design, create, and deliver presentations for Network Operations-translate technical language into business language as needed to bridge the gap between business and technology professionals engaged in the full product value stream
  • Provide timely updates to Executive Leadership to ensure status and feedback are shared timely with internal and external stakeholders


Basic Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree and Fourteen Years Experience OR Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years Experience OR Master's Degree and Ten Years Experience OR PhD and Eight Years Experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience building and managing IT Network Operations for global organizations
  • Experience with organizational transformation and process reengineering
  • Deep experience managing Managed Service Providers
  • People management of five or more people
  • Budget management of people, vendors, contracts at least $15M in size
  • Experience with management of globally dispersed technical delivery team
  • Innovative thinkers bearing a Growth Mindset
  • Experience leading Disaster Recovery build-up, maintenance and operations
  • Leadership abilities to mobilize team members and achieve significant initiatives
  • Experience with commanding and managing an incident bridge
  • Solid background in building roadmaps, create and execute on a strategic vision
  • Hands on network experience with the following technologies preferred: ServiceNow, SolarWind
  • Hands-on experience with Information Technology recovery from a disaster scenario
