You will report to the Investigator and work with team members from the Analytical Biochemistry Function, Research, technical development, and other internal divisions where scientific support is needed. You will be an important contributor in the biochemistry section. You will provide support to technique aspect, research/collaboration projects with other departments, and external partners. You will support the assay development in the Analytical biochemistry lab, developing cell culture for expression and quantification of antigens. You'll improve the cell culture process for quantification of protein expression levels using mass spectrometry techniques.

The Role

  • Independently perform a variety of mammalian cell culture procedures including but not limited to

  • culture cells, transfection, and protein expression

  • Develop imaging techniques for quantification of antigen expression in live-cell media

  • Experience with chemical conjugation of biomolecules

  • Conduct cell-based assays to measure protein expression using high throughput microscopy

  • Document and improve protocols for cell-based assays to help maintain the cell-culture lab

  • Write experimental protocols and prepare internal reports

  • Maintain lab notebooks

  • Collaborate with project teams, present research results and contribute to technical advancements and publications

  • Maintain functional laboratory equipment and follow HSE regulation

  • Monitor the storage of chemicals

  • Support other departments and other divisions when needed

Your skills and experience

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Biochemistry or related biological sciences

  • 2 years' experience in academic or pharmaceutical/biotech experience in biochemistry

  • Hands on experience with Cell culture/transfection/Gel electrophoresis/WB methods

  • Experience with FACS/microscopy techniques is plus

  • Desire to work under a collaborative and industrious environment

  • Organizational, written and oral communication experience

  • Experience working in teams is required

  • Previous experience managing contract staff
