Position Overview:

Forge Biologics is seeking a Patient Advocacy Intern to join our 2023 Ignite Internship Program.  In this role, you will have the opportunity to advocate for rare disease support through educational materials, social media support, legislative lobbying initiatives, and patient care.  A variety of projects will depend on the rare disease community priorities at the time of hire. 

Who you are:

  • You are a current junior currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor's degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent 
  • You are studying Genetics, Communications, Non-Profit, Psychology, or a related field 
  • You are a self-starter, have strong interpersonal communication skills, collaborative, and organized 
  • You have previous work or leadership experience and experiences in non-profit, volunteering with patients or in the healthcare setting, communication content development, and/or public policy is a plus 
  • You are empathetic, a good listener, and compassionate 

What you'll do:

  • You will develop patient focused educational material and rare disease focused social media content 
  • You will work on foundation landscaping and internal engagement support 
  • You will assist with legislative lobbying initiatives and advocate for patients and families impacted by rare diseases 
  • You will work on multiple projects, gaining hands-on experience in project management and patient support

Forge Biologic’s Ignite Internship Program is designed to provide meaningful experiences in a professional environment while giving our interns the experience to network with Senior Leadership and peers through a variety of activities and events.  Over the course of the Summer Internship Program, you will work on real business issues/projects and learn from industry leaders.  Our interns will work onsite at our offices in Grove City, OH (just 15 minutes from downtown Columbus, Ohio).
