The Frederick National Laboratory is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and operated by Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. The lab addresses some of the most urgent and intractable problems in the biomedical sciences in cancer and AIDS, drug development and first-in-human clinical trials, applications of nanotechnology in medicine, and rapid response to emerging threats of infectious diseases.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Protective Services provides 24/7 security coverage for the NCI-Frederick campus, the Vaccine Pilot Plant, and the Advanced Technology Research Facility. (ATRF)
**Weekend Shift: Saturday 11:30am to Midnight AND Sunday 11:30am to Midnight**
KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform periodic inspection of all grounds and facilities
- Control access to facilities through the use of a computerized access control system
- Respond to scientific alarms
- Observe surroundings for possible health and safety hazards
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Possession of a High School diploma
- Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency
- In addition to educational requirements, a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in security or law enforcement, including instrumentation. Certification in First Aid or required
- Must become First Aid, CPR/AED certified within 60 days of hire date
- Must attend training in hazardous waste operations at the awareness level
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
- Associate's degree from an accredited college/university according to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in a related field
