Regeneron's Formulation Development Group (FDG) is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Associate Scientist as we work to support all stages of pre-clinical, clinical and commercial formulation and drug product development for Regeneron's Genetic Medicine.

We apply biochemical, biophysical and bioanalytical methods to carry out characterization and development studies primarily on viral vector-based gene therapy to support formulation and drug product development. In addition, we also support the development of antibody-based programs and will conduct research in collaborations with colleagues in Research and Preclinical Development to develop new technologies and platforms.

A Typical Day Might Look Like:

  • Design and implement formulation development, characterization, and stability studies to support formulation and drug product development for viral vector-based gene therapy (e.g. AAV) and antibody programs.
  • Develop phase-appropriate biochemical and biophysical methods as well as high-throughput biophysical methods for characterization of stability and degradation mechanisms of candidate molecules and drug products.
  • Perform sample analysis supporting FDG activities
  • Author technical documents, such as formulation development technical reports, to support the process development, manufacturing and regulatory filings.
  • Apply statistical science knowledge for study design and data analysis.
  • Present work at group, department, and cross-functional meetings.

This Role Might Be for You If:
  • Good understanding of protein chemistry, biophysical/biochemical characterization of proteins, analytical method development, structure biology, and biomolecule product development is desirable.
  • Knowledge or prior experience working with viral vectors, such as AAV, Lentivirus or cell therapy products is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with biochemical and biophysical techniques for protein characterization such as chromatography (SEC, IEX, RP), viscosity, gel electrophoresis (CE-SDS, MCE, cIEF, iCE), particle size (DLS, HIAC, MFI), spectroscopy (UV-Vis, CD, AUC, fluorescence), and thermostability characterization (DSC, DSF) is desirable.
  • Ability to prioritize and lead multiple tasks.
  • Thorough, self-motivated, effective team member with, good oral and written communication skills.

To be considered, you must have a BS degree with 5+ years or MS degree with 2+ years relevant laboratory experience. Degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field are desirable. Relevant industry experience is preferred.

Salary Range (annually)

$75,700.00 - $123,500.00
