Company Description

Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, computation, and biology to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Eikon’s discovery platform is built on groundbreaking innovations from its founders (Nobel Prize, 2014), culminating in the creation of microscopes which enable real time, molecular-resolution measurements of protein movement in living cells, thereby unlocking otherwise intractable classes of proteins as drug targets.

Position

As a Research Associate at Eikon, you will join an interdisciplinary team of highly creative and talented individuals. You will have a key role in pioneering small-molecule screening assays using Eikon’s exclusive live-cell, single-molecule high-throughput screening platform. You will collaborate with a team of biologists, chemists, computer scientists, and engineers who rely on the biological data you will develop to drive drug discovery.

About You

  • You are a rigorous experimentalist who pays attention to detail, have good documentation, organizational, and communication skills
  • You love learning, enjoy problem solving and are eager to take on challenges
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, multi-tasking environment
  • You are resourceful and able to work independently as well as in a highly collaborative team environment
  • You are not shy to ask for advice and are responsive to feedback

What You’ll Do

  • Work with scientists to support high-throughput screens using Eikon’s single-molecule imaging platform, cell culture, and other necessary molecular/cellular biology experiments to advance drug discovery projects
  • Keep detailed and organized electronic records of experimental protocols and results
  • Readily communicate to scientists for scheduling day-to-day tasks
  • Be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of reliable assay output, maintaining rigor and reproducibility at the forefront
  • Analyze and interpret data, and summarize key biological results to project teams
  • Collaborate and communicate across a diverse team of biologists, chemists, computer scientists, and engineers
  • Be able to adapt to new and fast-evolving methods and techniques

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, cell biology, chemical biology, biochemistry, biophysics, bioengineering, or related fields; plus 1 year lab experience
  • Basic knowledge of fluorescence microscopy
  • Capacity for quantitative and/or statistical analysis using common software tools (e.g., Microsoft Suite, GraphPad Prism, etc.)
  • Experience in mammalian cell culture preferred
  • Working experience with fluorescence microscopy, automation, and other high-throughput instrumentation is a plus
  • Knowledge of programming language (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or R) is a plus
  • Working experience with high-throughput data analysis is a plus

At Eikon, employee compensation also includes bonus and equity compensation, in addition to several generous benefit programs, including:

  • 401k plan with company matching
  • Medical (premiums covered by Eikon at 95%), dental and vision insurance (premiums covered by Eikon at 100%)
  • Mental health and wellness benefits
  • Weeklong summer and winter holiday shutdowns
  • Generous paid time off and holiday policies
  • Life/AD&D Insurance (premiums covered by Eikon at 100%) and optional supplemental employee-paid life/AD&D policies
  • Enhanced parental leave benefit
  • Daily subsidized lunch program when on-site

The expected salary range for this role is $66,000 to $76,000 depending on skills, competency, and the market demand for your expertise.
