What you will do

In this role, you will be part of the Supply Chain team and report directly to the site Senior Warehouse Operations Head, and you will participate in multiple cross-functional initiatives for Amgen Ohio (AOH) leading to the improvement of the overall planning process using enterprise-wide programs. In addition, you will coordinate, drive, and/or support the identification and implementation of related Warehouse systems and processes.

The Manager, Supply Chain Warehouse Systems will be the systems super user or Amgens warehouse systems and sub-systems. As the expert you will develop and provide education and training to all impacted departments. This role is also responsible for identifying, establishing, modeling, and tracking key performance measures that will insure the achievement of Best Practices across Amgen sites.

The Manager Supply Chain Warehouse Systems will serve as a key representative on various cross-functional task forces and teams to ensure that consistent and well-integrated practices are developed throughout the organization. This role requires consistent and strong communication within Supply Chain and throughout all of Amgen and across all sites and may directly or indirectly coordinate the activities of other staff members or outside consultants.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Represent AOH Supply Chain in large, interdisciplinary system-related projects/initiatives and possibly lead work streams within such projects (e.g., EWM implementation, technical upgrades).
  • Detailed assessment of pros and cons related to current Supply Chain processes and the related system support.
  • Providing guidance on to-be system and process design.
  • Translating of business requirements into IS system design specifications.
  • Communicating with all parties involved in or impacted by the project.
  • Guiding project champion and sponsor toward timely decisions.
  • Performing risk and issue management.
  • Change control record if applicable.
  • Involvement in test process for new functionality.
  • Training of end-users and/or trainers on new functionality.
  • Serve as partner concern point for Key Users in case of system related issues that require liaising with IS staff to resolve.
  • Identify and lead Operational Excellence initiatives in Supply Chain processes, including data analysis and case development.
  • Support SAP releases: planning, prioritization, requirements gathering
  • Support Supply Chain management by data analysis and providing input for Business Reviews / KPIs

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Masters degree and 2 years of Supply Chain experience

OR

Bachelors degree and 4 years of Supply Chain experience

Or

Associate's degree and 10 years of Supply Chain experience

Or

High School Diploma/GED and 12 years of Supply Chain experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Business Administration, Supply Chain & Logistics Management, Information Technology, or Industrial Engineering educational background.
  • 5+ years of Supply Chain Management with a focus on warehouse operations and systems
  • Excellent knowledge of ERP (SAP) and SAP WM/EWM
  • Good understanding of Warehouse Master Data in SAP
  • Knowledge of Information Technology, Supply Chain processes, and Operational Excellence
  • Good understanding of current Good Manufacturing/Distribution Practices
  • Quick process understanding, insight and visualizing
  • Experience in optimizing internal value chain (core processes and all processes related to these processes), multi process optimization in warehouse, planning and production processes
  • Experience in leading projects or work streams (cross functional)
  • Availability for international business trips and to support non-standard shift organization with the flexibility to work extended hours.
  • Knowledge of staff relations with the ability to coach, mentor and counsel staff when needed.
  • Good organizational and communications skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Continuous improvement mentality.
  • Experience working in a global environment, ability to collaborate /communicate effectively at different management levels.
  • Proficient user of software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Smart sheet, Skype, Tableau).
  • Leadership and team building skills.

  • The annual salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $106,226 - $124,188.
