Job Details

Company Description

Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, computation, and biology to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Eikon’s discovery platform is built on groundbreaking innovations from its founders (Nobel Prize, 2014), culminating in the creation of microscopes which enable real-time, molecular-resolution measurements of protein movement in living cells, thereby unlocking otherwise intractable classes of proteins as drug targets.

Position

As a Research Associate at Eikon, you will join an interdisciplinary team of highly creative and talented individuals with outstanding expertise in the Company’s core platform technologies. You will collaborate with scientists to establish and characterize cell lines using state-of-the-art genome editing tools in a medium to high throughput fashion. You’ll have a key role in early drug discovery by developing cell lines that are critical for the single particle tracking platform and performing other functional biological assays. You will work with a team of biologists, chemists, computer scientists, and microscope engineers who rely on the cell lines and assays you build.

About You

  • You’re a rigorous experimentalist who takes pride in your ability to execute at the bench
  • You pay attention to detail, have good documentation and organizational skills
  • You’re curious, love learning and are eager to take on hard problems
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy pushing the boundary of what is possible
  • You’re resourceful and like to work independently, but are not shy to ask for advice

 What You’ll Do

  • Use gene editing technologies to develop tagged cell lines in a medium to high-throughput scale
  • Work with engineering team and automation team to build and operate the high-throughput cell editing system
  • Perform basic cell culture, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, and characterization of edited cell lines
  • Keep detailed and organized records of experimental protocols and results
  • Collaborate and communicate across a diverse interdisciplinary research team
  • Contribute to multiple projects simultaneously and manage diverse team interactions

 Qualifications

  • BS degree or MS degree with 1+ year of academic or industry experience in biology-related research
  • Familiar with mammalian cell culture techniques, gene editing techniques (CRISPR/Cas, TALEN, etc.), basic molecular techniques (cloning, DNA and RNA extraction, NGS/Sanger sequencing, etc.)
  • Experience with automation and other high-throughput tools and instrumentation is a plus
  • Experience with quantitative and/or statistical analysis using common software tools (e, GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Suite, etc.) and/or basic computational processing (R, Python, etc.) is a plus

Eikon is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and will consider all qualified applicants for employment.

In accordance with the Company’s duty to provide and maintain a safe workplace, the Company requires all employees to have received both an FDA-approved primary vaccine series and at least one booster vaccine against COVID-19 as of their start date. If you are unable to meet this requirement due to a disability or serious medical condition, or due to a sincerely held religious belief, you will have an opportunity to request a reasonable accommodation.

Company

Eikon is a pioneering drug discovery and development company that leverages superior engineering and high-performance computing to analyze single molecule protein behavior in living cells. We are engineering a battery of innovative tools and technologies for biological exploration in drug discovery and beyond.

Eikon thrives on the energy and creativity of interdisciplinary teams. We are physicists and chemists, biologists and engineers. We spend our days context-switching between multiple scientific languages. We work with lasers, super-resolution microscopes, and robot arms. We leverage machine learning, cell line engineering, and the collective intelligence of world-class scientists and technologists to observe therapeutically relevant biology in a way no one has before.

We’re endlessly curious, intellectually honest and we love what we do. We’re driven to learn the true mechanisms of biology and pharmacology at the molecular level, to make the biggest difference in as many lives as possible.
