Summary:

The Region Business Director (RBD) is responsible for overseeing the sales execution for all therapeutic areas within their geographic Region. This role represents the Region for all business applications and plays a vital role in fostering the Company's culture, reputation and image. Key responsibilities include the ability to drive the national sales strategy and tactical execution throughout assigned geography, cultivate a motivated and highly performing sales environment, achieve optimal sales targets in compliance with all company policies and practices, as well as, all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The RBD is also responsible for the management and development of all Regional personnel including District Managers and Representatives/Territory Managers.

This is a Remote, Field based role. This territory currently covers the West Region.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops Regional strategic and tactical sales plans by using all available resources including Sales Management, Commercial Operations, Market Access, and Home Office staff. Analyzes market data to evaluate sales trends within the Region and regularly reviews performance against objectives. Responsible for Region business reviews with management team to ensure tactical sales plans are carried out. Consistently demonstrates good business acumen by creating, communicating, and executing Regional selling strategies, enabling the Region to meet or exceed all relevant sales performance goals.

  • Supervises, coaches, and leads development of District Managers across the Region. Responsible for the overall performance and development of all employees within the Region, primarily focusing on coaching District Managers and - key Representative/Territory Manager talent. Partners with Human Resources Business Partner to hire, develop, train, and retain a highly productive and motivated sales team. Maintains awareness of the development and potential advancement of employees within the Region by collaborating with respective HRBP and Talent Management to develop regional talent plans and implement identified pull through tactics. Promotes the fair, objective and consistent resolution of employee relations and compliance issues by coaching management and partnering with Human Resources and Compliance. Monitor Regional compliance of Field Sales promotional activity, ensuring appropriate reporting procedures are taking place.

  • Reviews monthly Sales AP and Operational budget reports and institutes action where required. Makes Regional budget decisions aligned with strategic sales plan to achieve optimal return on investments. Approves Travel Expense reports and promotional disbursements of direct reports to ensure procedural and reimbursement guidelines are being met.

  • Collaborates with internal departments to ensure effective communication and implementation of Company objectives. Participates in national task forces to provide feedback, solutions and direction on organizational initiatives that may have impact on the field either regionally or nationally.

  • Directs the execution of approved marketing plans and promotional campaigns through POA and Sales meetings. Works closely with all co-promotion partners to ensure a cohesive, synergistic approach is implemented.

  • Actively involved with the development and coordination of tactical plans for pull through within the geography.

Qualifications:

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university):

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in life sciences required

Experience Qualifications:

  • 7 or More Years years in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry required

  • Minimum of 3 years sales management experience with demonstrated sales success in Oncology or buy & bill preferred

  • Ability to travel up to 70%

  • Must be able to travel to meetings and related Sales events.

  • Must have a valid drivers’ license with a driving record that meets company requirements

  • Compensation and seniority level/title based on experience and qualifications
