General Scope and Summary

SAGE Therapeutics is searching for a resourceful, results-oriented, integrative thinker for a role that is responsible for management of medical communications, including symposia, webinars, and other non-CME medical education. The Senior Manager is responsible for, in collaboration with the Medical Communications team, interacting with various agencies, KOLs, and internal SAGE departments to support planning and management for assigned therapeutic areas (TA) while ensuring compliance with good publication practices and scientific merit of medical education activities.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute the medical communications strategy for assigned therapeutic area. Work with internal and external subject matter experts to actively facilitate the development of non-CME medical education.

  • Develop non-CME medical education materials in collaboration with vendor and ensure timely delivery and submission of materials.

  • Ensure consistent adherence to internal policies through active management of the material (e.g., slide decks, infographics, scientific platforms, etc.) development process.

  • Manage assigned medical communications spend to ensure accurate accounting and reconciliation to available budget.

  • Collaborate with HEOR, Communications, and Field Medical teams to translate available publications into medical communications and educational resources.

  • Ensure fair balance and integrity in development of medical education materials.

  • Represent SAGE in ongoing collaboration with KOLs at various scientific and clinical congress meetings.

Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Must thrive working in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, and the ability to identify issues and raise to key stakeholders in order to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs, and recommendations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a clinical and/or scientific background.

  • 5+ years of experience in a biotechnology/pharmaceutical environment required, including 2+ years of experience in managing medical communications efforts in a highly matrixed organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must be willing and able to travel 10-20% for scientific congress meetings as necessary.

  • Prior Neurology/Neuropsychiatry experience is preferred.

  • Must possess excellent communication and project management skills, as well as a proven ability to effectively collaborate and influence decision-making across multiple levels of an organization.

  • Must be able to actively manage and track complex projects in parallel, structuring the actions of many people toward share outcomes.

  • Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution-oriented.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to work individually, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.
