In this role, the Sr Manager, Diversity, Inclusion & Belong (DI&B) will serve as the primary lead to champion and drive all DI&B initiatives within the Global Supply Chain (GSC) function. This role will also be the recruiting team lead for the US region, as well as lead the development and implementation of an exciting new program within GSC to grow our supply chain talent through an Early Career Professionals Rotation Program.

Sr. Manager GSC DI&B Responsibilities:

GSC DI&B global team lead

  • Champion and drive all DI&B initiatives within GSC; develop and support launch of programs that build upon the organizations culture of DI&B with input from team members, Senior Leadership Team, and GSC staff feedback.
  • Set strategy and annual goals for the team of volunteers and interns, ensure alignment of GSC DI&B efforts with Operations, and Amgen DI&B goals.
  • As GSC functional area lead, amplify initiatives and events to GSC staff, cascade communications and deploy Ops-wide programs within GSC (e.g. HUBT).
  • Create or collaborate on GSC DI&B communications (Newsletter, Yammer, Teams, Sharepoint page, presentations to Senior Leadership or GSC all-staff)
  • Act as the liaison with DI&B partners across Amgen: attend Functional Working Team meetings, Site Diversity Council meetings; build relationships and share best practices with Employee Resource Group leads, and align on communication strategies.
  • Run monthly team meetings, attend workstream meetings to provide guidance and identify supports. Track and measure success, report progress to GSC SLT.
  • Drive annual resourcing and budget for GSC DI&B team workstreams and their initiatives, support GSC Day and individual initiatives as required.

GSC DI&B Recruiting team lead for US region

  • Lead team of GSC DI&B Recruiting workstream volunteers in managing project-based Intra-Semester and Summer Internship Programs.
  • Oversee recruitment related initiatives, manage any related contracts (e.g. 21 CAP program with Howard University).
  • Act as the primary liaison with employer relations coordinators at Amgens target schools (undergrad and graduate), attend university recruiting events and conferences, representing Amgen (2-3 times per year).
  • Work with Amgen university relations, providing updates on intern progress and coordinating event timelines.
  • Reach out to GSC leaders to generate internship project proposals.
  • Collaborate with HR to identify candidates and create internship job requisitions, support student interviews with hiring managers, and send offers to candidates.
  • Monitor intern progress and collect feedback to identify process improvements. Connect with hiring managers for feedback on intern performance.
  • Support conversion of intra-semester interns into summer interns, and summer interns into full time employees.

Develop and Manage the GSC Rotation Program

  • Develop and implement a new rotation program in collaboration with GSC leaders to develop talent in key GSC skills across functional areas.
  • Manage up to 4 recent grads per year in the GSC rotation program, providing coaching and mentorship over the course of three, 8-month rotations (2-year program).
  • Upon successful completion of the 2-year program, work with hiring managers to identify and transition candidates into open Level 4 FTE positions matched to candidate skills and interests.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Supply Chain experience OR
  • Masters degree and 6 years of Supply Chain experience OR
  • Bachelors degree and 8 years of Supply Chain experience OR
  • Associate's degree and 10 years of Supply Chain experience OR

High School Diploma/GED and 12 years of Supply Chain experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Business Administration, Supply Chain & Logistics Management, Material Management and/or Industrial Engineering educational background.
  • Good understanding of the digital space, SAP and/or Kinaxis Rapid Response tools
  • Excellent interpersonal & organizational skills
  • Demonstrated Leadership and team building skills.
  • Operational Excellence experience in regulated industry.
  • Proficient user of software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Smart sheet, Skype, Tableau).
  • Executive presence with a strategic thinking skill set.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Continuous improvement mentality.
  • Experience working in a global environment, ability to collaborate closely/communicate effectively at different management levels.
  • Knowledge of staff relations with the ability to coach, mentor and counsel staff when needed.
