Associate Director, Thought Leader Strategy, Hematology

Key Responsibilities Include:

Agile and Accountable:　

• Develop, implement and maintain accountability for interactions and feedback with national and regional oncology Hematology oncology external experts (MD, APP, PharmD, Nurse)
• Ensure external expert perspectives are shared and considered consistently across leadership and the Integrated Brand Teams
• Manage planning and execution of marketing consultancy arrangements

 Decide, Smart, and Sure:

• Drive accountability for the TLL performance
• Ensure speakers are trained, coached, and monitored continuously
• Engage in congress related engagement activities nationally, including supporting and measuring any ongoing TL strategies and tactics
• Ensures culture of compliance for the regional Thought Leader Strategy team

Make Possibilities Real:

• Must continually identify and develop TLs, to consistently build our TL base for the franchise and the brands.
• Developing and execution of national and regional advisory boards in collaboration with brand teams
• Partnering with brand marketing and Director, TLLs to develop, refine, execute and measurement of the AbbVie US Oncology External Expert Engagement strategy
• Create regional strategies with cross-functional partners

• Partner with internal cross functional partners including, and not limited to, sales, marketing, medical affairs, legal, compliance, and, and managed care

Clear and Courageous:

• Must be able to build and foster collaboration with commercialization partners
• Participate as needed in cross-functional or other project teams and/or supporting the Marketing Team and overall franchise　

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree required, masters degree preferred 
• Previous experience with developing a productive insight collection group activities with top tier External Experts
• Marketing experience preferred
• Ability and track record of building a successful comprehensive External Expert strategy across the business unit
• Previous extensive hematology experience required with demonstrated experience in academic settings
• At least 5 years' previous direct experience with strong existing relationships with oncology thought leaders (physician and nurse) with demonstrated access to academic and key institutions
• Ability to provide at least 5 external expert recommendations
• Exceptional presentation, interpersonal, collaboration and data discussion skill sets
• Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding qualitative and /or quantitative goals
• Proven & thorough knowledge of commercial issues associated with highly competitive oncology therapeutic areas is preferred
• Business travel, by air or car, is regularly required
• Position can be remotely based. Needs to be able to work effectively while engaged in travel and deliver timely results

Preferred:

• 10 or more years' work experience required in the pharmaceutical, diagnostic or biotech industry, specifically in oncology
• A minimum of 2 years' previous field management experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
• Health care certification/qualification (e.g. APP, RN, RPh, other)
• Advanced degree in life sciences
