We are a SMALL but ACTIVE IT department located at our  Monmouth Junction, NJ facility looking for a HANDS-ON, TECHNICALLY SKILLED IT Support Technician I to grow with our organization

The IT Support Technician I provides hands-on Level I and II systems support, maintenance and troubleshooting to internal users and a remote sales force. The incumbent uses their technical ability and strong customer service/end user focus to collaborate with all levels and departments to investigate and resolve assigned IT problems, thoroughly document all issues, and escalate to appropriate level for resolution, as needed. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

Primary duties/responsibilities

• Provides technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware; Responds to queries either in person, email or over the phone; Asks questions to determine the nature of a problem; Walks customers through problem-solving processes, as needed; Follow ups with customers to ensure issues have been resolved

• Runs diagnostic programs to resolve problems; Installs, modifies, and repairs computer hardware and software; Installs computer peripherals for users 

• Resolves technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN) and Wi-Fi networks

• Setups and supports telephony and mobile devices

• Assists with the onboarding of new users including setup of equipment; Trains new and existing computer users

• Writes training documentation

• Maintains an inventory of computer systems and supplies

Requirements

  

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED

Minimum education and years of relevant work experience

Associates degree, technical certification or college equivalent AND minimum 1 year experience in helpdesk, IT support, or similar role in a business or academic setting. 

• Excellent, hands- on - working knowledge of and experience with - desktop hardware and peripheral units/components and their connectivity in a wired and/or wireless environment, Personal Computer (PC) and computer terminology, PC operating systems/applications REQUIRED

• Excellent, hands-on, working knowledge of - and experience with- Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft Office products REQUIRED

• Ability to interact with people at various corporate levels REQUIRED

• PC Support experience servicing and troubleshooting within Office 365 environment REQUIRED

• Ability and willingness to work additional hours as needed REQUIRED

• Bachelors degree in IT or Computer Science A PLUS 

• Experience working in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry A PLUS

· Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. REQUIRED
