We are seeking an experienced Senior Research Associate (SRA) who will be a key contributor to the company’s robust internal discovery research program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will have experience with standard immunology and cell culture techniques. In this role, they will develop and implement novel biochemical and/or cell-based assays for characterizing the potency and mechanism-of-action of small molecule inhibitors.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The candidate is expected to read and evaluate scientific literature to aid in assay development and data interpretation. The position requires working independently and thinking creatively, as well as collaborating effectively with colleagues from diverse disciplines, and presenting high-quality experimental findings to others. This role also requires executing common laboratory functions, including compound inventory/management, stock solution preparation/handling, and shipping/receiving.
Technical requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency with setting up and executing cell-based assays and culturing both primary cells and cell lines
- Expertise in the following: ELISAs, Western blot analysis, protein assays and cell proliferation assays
- Familiarity with utilizing 96/384-well formats
- Knowledge of software for analyzing dose-response data, such as Prism and Excel, and of creating presentations in PowerPoint
Desired
- Demonstrated proficiency with flow cytometry is highly desired. This includes cell staining, data acquisition and multiparameter analysis in FlowJo.
- Experience isolating and culturing primary human immune cells
- ELN experience is a plus
EDUCATION
- Training should include a BS or MS in biology, cell biology, immunology, or related areas
- 5+ years relevant laboratory experience (Biotech/Pharma industry or academic)
