Responsibilities

Reporting to Chief of Staff, CEO Office, this high caliber individual will:

  • Drive and direct a variety of key strategy and planning initiatives at the corporate level and support strategic work with and for key stakeholders across functions (Commercial, Development, etc.).
  • Support and consult on the development and execution of other strategic initiatives led by team members in alignment with overall organizational goals and objectives
  • Support and drive ad hoc projects related to the corporate strategy
  • Identify and uncover areas of the company to drive performance, efficiency, and accelerate execution across functions
  • Provide thought leadership and advocate for strategic initiatives and develop work products (models, frameworks, presentations, recommendations, thought pieces, etc.) for senior level management consideration, evaluation and decision-making
  • Develop and maintain detailed work plans on key initiatives including project tasks, clear milestones, and assignments of work project responsibilities, schedules, plans, and status reports
  • Proactively engage with cross-functional stakeholders to identify interdependencies, resolve issues, and champion strategic initiatives led by the office
  • Interface regularly with members of the Leadership Team and other senior leaders

 


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree / PhD / MD with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • 2+ years at top tier consulting firm a plus

 

  • Must have at least a basic understanding of our portfolio (Clinical Development and Commercial) as well as historical context of company moves.

 


Preferred Experience / Skills

We're seeking a strategic influential leader with:

 

  • Significant experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry with demonstrated cross-functional collaboration and leadership; deep knowledge about the biotech / biopharma segment is ideal
  • Demonstrated ability developing pharma/biotech strategy, whether specifically corporate strategy or across other major functions

 

  • Ability to multi-task and independently lead multiple projects and meet key deadlines
  • High EQ, ability to listen, and adapts to dynamic of situation
  • Confidence to provide dissenting views when appropriate
  • Ability to work cross functionally and understand the motivations of colleagues in other functions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, focus, negotiate, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures and disciplines
  • Highly adept at influencing upward and downward without direct reporting relationship
  • Quick learner – applies 80/20 rule
  • Drives forward in face of ambiguity
  • Bias for action; ability to prioritize
  • Strong leadership, self-direction, comfort and experience tackling ambiguous, complex problems
  • Proven ability to lead collaborative and creative strategic problem solving by breaking down issues, identifying options to address, synthesizing insights, and driving to action and resolution
  • Deep experience in designing and deploying rigorous processes, tools, templates and governance
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex situations, illustrate conceptual paths, and facilitate discussions leading to resolution on key issues
  • Must be proficient in PowerPoint and able to craft stories with minimal guidance
