Summary

This position is responsible for providing forecasting & financial support to Brand Teams by assisting product directors/ managers with strategic planning and financial consulting, leading financial planning and net revenue forecasting processes.
The person will own and facilitate the forecasting process to develop P&L projections for the inline and pipeline brands, partner with various functional groups to provide financial assessment, communicate results to Brand and Sr. Management, and provide any other financial analysis to support commercial and business development decisions.Responsibilities
  • Demand and Financial Forecasting:
    Develop deep knowledge of the competitive landscape of the brand therapeutic area. Work closely with the Brand team to be aware of the trends and evolving dynamics and identify future events. Work with market research team to gather and interpret primary research and secondary analysis to assess effect of market events. Work with market access and contract analytics teams to understand the dynamics in the managed care markets and their potential impact on the revenue and profitability of the brand.

    Own and facilitate the process of Net Sales forecast and Cost of Goods projections development (Annual Plan, Latest Estimates, other business requirements and/or Alliance forecasts): coordinate process by which forecast assumptions and results are reviewed and drive decision-making on forecast assumptions with DSI stakeholders, including Alliance partners; track actual net sales performance relative to forecast, explain sources of variance. Communicate results and variance explanations to Brand and Sr. Management through standard monthly and quarterly reporting, or ad-hoc requests.

    Provide guidance and strategic recommendations to Sr. Leadership on performance, business risks and opportunities. Contribute to Brand planning, launch planning, and Supply Chain (S&OP) meetings Ensure all Forecasting milestones are met; drive continuous improvement of forecasting process.

  • Business Analytics & Business Development:
    Develop and maintain daily/ weekly/ monthly/ quarterly/ annual/ ad-hoc business performance and analytics. Own and facilitate the discussion on various analytics and activities required to accurately and efficiently prepare P&L from Gross Sales through COGS to Gross Profit and provide necessary reporting for various business stakeholders and management. Communicate results to brand and Sr. Management. The position will support Global BD team by creating Full P&L NPV models in assessment of potential project opportunities, including out-licensing and partnering of DSI assets.
  • Provide support to the team leader by assisting team members to make decisions in day-to-day questions, i.e. competitive landscape discussions, forecasting methodology to be used, analysis of revenue and performance commentary of revenue, etc.

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • MBA preferred
Experience Qualifications
  • 7 or More Years of commensurate experience in demand forecasting and financial analysis required
  • Pharma Brand Forecasting (Demand and Rebate), Market Access, or Finance experience preferred
  • Deep knowledge of therapeutic areas that DSI competes in (oncology) or demonstrated ability to develop that knowledge preferred
  • Technical knowledge of modeling tools (e.g. Excel) and data sources (e.g. Symphony, IQVIA) preferred
  • Sufficient understanding of financial matters to challenge and pressure-test assumptions (e.g. pricing, GTN, etc) preferred
