Director, Global Market Insights & Analytics

Fate Therapeutics is seeking an experienced Director of Global Market Insights & Analytics to develop deep market insights through market research, data analytics, and competitive intelligence for key programs across our pipeline of iPSC-derived, off- the-shelf NK and T cell therapies. In this role, you will help shape our product strategies, marketing plans and tactics and be a cross-functional collaborator with the broader Commercial, Finance, and R&D organizations, partnering at all levels of the business. This role will support the Global Marketing team and Disease Area teams to provide customer, competitive and market insights, and develop forecast models and assumptions that reflect the potential value to patients and the company. This full-time position reports to the Chief Commercial Officer and is located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities

• Provide a market insight plan, which is aligned with pipeline strategy and coordinates with the commercial, medical and scientific functions for pipeline products
• Lead end-to-end market insights generation, including identifying information needs, planning, and executing fit-for-purpose research approaches to resolve key business questions with a customer and patient-focused mindset
• Manage and provide timely, current, and accurate market and competitive intelligence reporting
• Create foundational marketplace understanding through the development of treatment flow maps, market segmentation and attribute/benefit testing
• Pressure test conclusions and implications drawn from market insight initiatives to ensure assessments are objective, data-driven, and relevant
• Effectively translate and communicate outputs in the form of actionable insights and recommendations for cross-functional teams and leadership
• Deliver reports and presentations to the Executive Leadership Team and other levels of management to enable strategic and tactical decision making
• Identify and select external partners to support execution of market insights projects and manage the processes to achieve quality, cost-effective, and efficient delivery
• Support the financial assessment of pipeline products and business development opportunities, by building forecast models and aligning on forecast assumptions
• Respond to and interpret relevant news in a timely manner including in-depth coverage at scientific, medical, and industry conferences, including taking ownership of the conference coverage process

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in marketing or related fields; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
• 8+ years of market insights and analytics experience within oncology (both hematology and oncology) across the product life cycle, with emphasis on market research, competitive intelligence, forecasting and new product planning
• Prior experience with gene and/or cell therapy a plus
• Experience in the U.S. market required, global market insights experience preferred
• Robust understanding of design and implementation of cutting-edge market research
• Experience leveraging complex quantitative data (e.g., claims, EHR), and ability to discern and translate meaningful insights
• Comfortable with ambiguity and developing innovative pathways within a high-paced environment and with high expectations for work product
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and work independently
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• In depth understanding of business objectives and how these translate into market insights priorities

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Preferred candidate will be local to the corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA
• Occasional evening and weekend work as needed
