What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will be is accountable for leading the execution of biomarker and diagnostic related activities required to operationalize the Amgen biomarker and diagnostic strategies at a program/study level.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Setting up the strategy for and leading a new functional capability for Amgen, reports to Head of CBD.

  • Owns the development and execution of the biomarker operations section of the Global Biomarker Strategy & Plan

  • Drive implementation and execution of the Global Biomarker Strategy & Plan at a program/study level.

  • Scientific knowledge is required as they are a point of contact for external CROs and are responsible for training and education of clinical sites on biomarker sample collection, storage and shipping, etc.

  • Interactions with cross-functional teams such as Clinical Study Teams, CBDTs, EGTs.

  • Accountable for the development of clinical study biomarker and diagnostic specimen collection, processing and storage strategies, ensuring logistical feasibility and cost effectiveness.

  • Project Management for CBDTs

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree & 4 years of Biomarker or Companion Diagnostic Experience OR

Masters degree & 7 years of Biomarker or Companion Diagnostic Experience OR

Bachelors degree & 9years of Biomarkers or Companion Diagnostic experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of biotech/pharmaceutical and/or biomarker/diagnostic experience.

  • Proven experience with a broad base of external customers, including patients, CROs, and clinical sites.

  • Success in this role will require strong scientific knowledge and strategic thinking, analytical and technical literacy, superior cross-functional collaboration skills, the ability to operate globally and locally, highly effective influencing skills, and a strong understanding of both diagnostic and drug development.

  • Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate implications of complex technical/clinical/regulatory biomarker data and sample requirements.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, active listening, and relationship management skills.

  • Interface effectively with all levels, including senior management.

  • Ability to work confidently in a cross-functional team and build effective internal partnerships.

  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to influence teams with diverse backgrounds.

  • Strong competitive attitude, including the ability to champion ideas, make decisions, and goal oriented focus and results driven.

  • Strong business judgment and emotional intelligence.

  • Demonstrates creativity and foresight in anticipating and solving complex project issues
