Reporting to the Executive Director, Global Consumer Marketing Respiratory Vaccines, and located in our Cambridge, MA corporate headquarters, the Associate Director, Marketing Consumer, COVID-19 will take responsibility and ownership for developing and executing the Global Consumer brand plan for Modernas Modernas COVID-19 vaccines.
Spikevax Bivalent is a truly groundbreaking product. Moderna launched Spikevax to the globe and continues to be seen as a leader in vaccine development in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this role, you will be joining Moderna at a critical time for Moderna and the COVID pipeline. As the pandemic and vaccines evolve, this role, within Modernas newly chartered Vaccines commercial organization, will be responsible for preparing and executing best in class global brand plans, manage launch excellence, develop digital strategies and tactics as well as work closely with the markets throughout the globe.
Heres What Youll Do
Refine and lead the global consumer marketing strategy for the COVID-19 vaccinesUse your consumer experience in market and customer insights, marketing strategy to drive market development, brand value and differentiation, launch planning, pre-launch and launch execution
Bring a deep understanding and data-driven point of view of digital, including owned and paid media, and how to manage the complex system of advertising
Collaborate with the commercial, medical, and regulatory teams at every stage of development through launch, navigating the complexities inherent in rapid response vaccine development. Youll work with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders to drive a smooth and successful product launch(s)
Bring your relentless drive and ambition for excellence to assess and define the key consumer value drivers, brand narrative, and consumer go-to-market strategy across a multichannel approach for a complex ecosystem of healthcare providers, governments, health systems, and consumers
Deliver best-practice project management oversight for all market defining and launch activities.
Be a key player in building Modernas Vaccines commercial organization, in partnership with a newly forming team that will blaze trails in brand new markets and grow Moderna at an accelerated pace
Comply with corporate policies and procedures as well as all applicable healthcare laws and regulations
Work closely with Regional / Country Marketing and Commercial leaders to translate the global marketing strategy in operational regional/ local plans where relevant
Heres What Youll Need (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelors Degree required
Minimum 8 years of experience within consumer marketing (either global or local), sales, or market access, with a successful track record leading market-launch brand strategies and brand teams in new and/or emerging markets
Experience implementing tactical marketing, including using novel digital methods to activate and engage with targeted consumers and motivate them to achieved desired objectives
Experience in developing and leading complex consumer pre-launch and launch stage marketing plans, with prior vaccine product and/or consumer product marketing experience highly desired.
Experience in vaccines will be important for the fast pace of COVID Commercialization and evolving respiratory vaccines landscape

MBA or advanced degree preferred
Ability to collaborate among a range of key areas (marketing, field team, communications, promotion, physician, trade and consumer channels, pricing and contracting, and/or government payers) with public policy experience desirable
A high degree of digital fluency, and a deep understanding with proven success, using digital strategies and tactics to analyze market and consumer segments and identify target consumer personas
The preferred candidate will have demonstrated success executing launch marketing plans that were innovative and game changing, and that established the market standard for the therapeutic area, brand segment, or disease
The individual needs to demonstrate a competitive spirit and resiliency to take on giants in what will be a highly competitive race to commercialize the new mRNA Platform in vaccines
Intense sense of urgency, curiosity, and ambition to excel and build something from the ground up, navigating all the requisite ambiguity and complexity that comes with writing the rulebook while executing in real time
Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration and influencing skills across internal and external stakeholders
