In this vital role you will The Commercial Insights Senior Associate is responsible for providing varied commercial analytics to support the brand team planning cycles (forecasts, quarterly business reviews, brand plans) and strategy ad hoc marketing analytics for multiple assets in the US and globally. The Commercial Insights Senior Associate will work under the guidance of a senior member of the Commercial Insights Team to deliver for the assigned assets, as well as with the cross functinoal teams on cross brand initiatives.

  • Synthesize information from multiple sources to develop strategic insights and point of view on key driven developments, implications to Amgen and actions Amgen must take.
  • Work in a highly cross functional manner and manage changing priorities across several key customers.
  • Develop positive relationships with key internal stakeholders to define business problems and develop coordinated analysis plans based on standard process methodologies.
  • Apply structured problem solving to collect, analyze and report CI, incorporating primary and secondary data sources to generate useful insights.
  • Articulate and educate customers on the relevant impact of changing market dynamics (i.e. reimbursement environment, biosimilar regulations, general environmental factors, etc.) to their business from a CI perspective.
  • Support and facilitate strategic exercises & driven simulations to generate competitive insights and company plans.
  • Coordinate and facilitate CI collection efforts at major medical conferences/congresses
  • Present on a regular basis in-depth analyses and summaries of results, interpreting and communicating results with recommendations to brand/business partners.
  • Educate the value and importance of CI to new employees and maintain a strong position of mentor/promoting CI through daily efforts.
  • Work to grow competitive intelligence/strategy to support other functions in the organization.
  • Some travel may be required. All activities must abide by and closely carry out Amgens CI Legal and Ethical Guidelines with internal stakeholders and agencies.

Basic Qualifications:

Masters degree

OR

Bachelors degree and 2 years of Analytics experience

Or

Associates degree and 6 years of Analytics experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Analytics experience

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic knowledge of marketing analytics in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Advanced degree (MS/MBA/PhD) with a focus on life sciences and business with 2 year experience
  • MS Office, strong written, oral and presentation skills are required
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust priorities, handle multiple projects with challenging timelines
  • Strong analytical skills - looking at reports and data and being able to tell a story
  • Competitive intelligence and/or consulting experience is preferred
