About Freenome 

Freenome is a high-growth biotech company on a mission since 2014 to create tools that empower everyone to prevent, detect, and treat their disease.  To achieve this mission, Freenome is developing next-generation blood tests to detect cancer in its earliest, most treatable stages using our multiomics platform and machine learning techniques. Our first blood test will detect early-stage colorectal cancer and advanced adenomas.

 

As the Training System Manager you will work collaboratively with leaders across Freenome to determine learning needs, optimize training for new hires, and document training as part of our commitment to quality.  You will work closely with our IT team to develop the functionality needed in Freenome’s Learning Management System to support a positive training experience.  The Training System Manager plays an integral role in supporting compliance with FDA, clinical laboratory, and ISO requirements around continuous training and competency. 

 

Your contribution:

  • Develops and oversees Freenome’s training program to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Review existing training programs, suggest enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of the organization.
  • Works collaboratively as part of a team, and partners with leadership to understand training needs.
  • Oversees development of training policies, and tailors training requirements to various roles across the organization. 
  • Develops methods to track training milestones, ensure goals are met, and communicate training program status to management.
  • Complies with applicable quality system procedures/policies and makes suggestions for continuous process improvement.
  • Provides day to day support for Freenome employees on issues related to required training. 
  • Develops and generates metrics / reports and gathers data to assess timeliness, quality and other aspects of training completion and compliance; then develops and presents solutions to drive higher levels of completion/compliance/quality.
  • Working with department managers cross-functionally to ensure training accountability.
  • Providing backup support for document control as needed.
  • Utilizes strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines as required.
  • Represents Freenome as the training subject matter expert in all regulatory inspections/audits.
  • Exceptional project management, leadership and experience developing or administering training programs for regulated drug or device companies. 
  • Familiarity with FDA training requirements, including documentation of training. 
  • Experience with the roll-out of new processes and systems.
  • Excellent planning, execution, and communication skills.
  • Strong Problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to work through issues of medium/high complexity with no supervision and bring them to resolution is required.

 

Your background, perspective and experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Adult Learning, Training, Business Management or other related field and/or combination of education and related experience is required.
  • 5+ years' work experience in a related field; a combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Masters Degree is preferred.
  • Broad understanding of Part 820/ISO 13485 compliant Quality Systems with high level of knowledge on the requirements/regulations related to training.
  • Strong skills in partnering with other teams and effective communicator, with the ability to forge effective working relationships across many levels of an organization.
  • Problem solving, "get-it-done" attitude. Ability to manage multiple concurrent work streams with high attention to detail.
