The Frederick National Laboratory is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and operated by Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. The lab addresses some of the most urgent and intractable problems in the biomedical sciences in cancer and AIDS, drug development and first-in-human clinical trials, applications of nanotechnology in medicine, and rapid response to emerging threats of infectious diseases.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Vaccine, Immunity and Cancer Directorate mission is to provide scientific leadership and laboratory infrastructure to study immune responses to Human Papillomavirus (HPV), SARS-CoV-2 infection and vaccines as well as other cancer preventive strategies in the context of clinical and pre-clinical studies.
KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Vaccine, Immunity and Cancer Directorate is seeking highly motivated Cross Functional Project Manager to provide cross functional program and project management support. The Cross Functional Project Manager will work directly with the Administrative Director, Program Director, and scientific managers on projects to establish program and project goals, create work breakdown structures, milestones, deliverables, deadlines, budgets, reports and publications. The Cross Functional Project Manager will perform the following:
- Organize,
schedule and lead meetings.
- Coordinate
logistical matters.
- Prepare
memos, meeting materials, presentations, and meeting minutes.
- Track
costs vs. budget, budget forecasting and planning.
- Collaborate
in the preparation of scientific proposals and other agreements.
- Liaison
with IP and Legal office on program matters.
- Supply
ordering and procurement.
- Equipment
maintenance and service coordination with laboratories, vendor setup and follow
ups.
- Maintenance
of inventory and databases.
- Preparation
and submission of Program travel packages.
- Preparation
of progress reports, 508 compliance and deliverables and submissions.
- Task
order and grant reports as well as manuscript submissions.
- Maintain
standard procedures for operation, writing new SPs and making edits as
required.
- Other
duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Possession
of a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Public Health or a related field from an
accredited college/university according to the Council for Higher Education
Accreditation (CHEA). (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for
the required education). Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S.
equivalency.
- Minimum of two (2) years related experience.
- Must
be highly organized and detailed oriented.
- Proficient
with Windows and MS Office including Word/Excel/Access.
- Knowledge
of the use of proper English/grammar/spelling/punctuation.
- Ability
to effectively maintain files and active records.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
- Project
Management experience in biomedical sciences.
- Project
Management Professional license.
- Experience
with Deltek, SharePoint, and databases.
- Microsoft
Project experience including the ability to create work breakdown structure and
program schedules with deliverables.
- Expected
Competencies:
- Strong
organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team and multi-task to achieve milestones within deadlines.
