The Role: BigHat Biosciences is seeking a self-motivated individual for a Research Associate or Associate Scientist role* to contribute to and support research on multiple therapeutic optimization projects.

Key Responsibilities
About You Undergraduate or Master’s degree in the biological sciences; familiarity with protein biochemistry; lab experience with Western Blot or SDS-PAGE; strongly self-motivated individual with attention to detail; driven, team-oriented, and excited to work in a dynamic startup environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Planning and execution of experiments to optimize antibody expression, stability, activity, and binding affinity.
- Maintain cell cultures and assess activity of therapeutic antibody candidates using in vitro cell-based functional assays.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of new assay types to be run at high throughput.
- Follow laboratory protocols, create SOPs, and keep a detailed record of all experiments using BigHat’s documentation tools.
- Summarize results and critical problems in writing and in presentation to a collaborative, cross-functional team.

- Bachelor’s degree in immunology, genetics, or biochemistry
- Hands-on knowledge of protein expression and purification
- Prior experience with cloning and mammalian cell culture
- Experience with ELISA/immunoassay and BLI/SPR
- Familiarity (or interest in) operating automated liquid handlers
- Ability to manipulate and analyze data in R/Python
