This role will coordinate the research and innovation activities at GRAIL spanning bioinformatics and data science, biomarker discovery, and new product development.  You will work with diverse teams including software, clinical, operations, research, product development, and external collaborators. Your work will result in a vigorous and organized research program with a range of cross-functional projects that generate exciting discoveries in cancer biology, impactful publications, and/or potential future products. You will report to Amoolya Singh, Chief Scientific Officer, and SVP data science.

Responsibilities
Coordinate the scoping, creation, execution, and completion of a portfolio of ambitious cross-functional scientific & technical projects 
Run regular meetings for project technical leads to review timelines, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies
Partner with GRAIL’s commercial and business development teams, project management office, and financial planning & analysis on diligence, scoping, resourcing, and budgeting activities
Partner with peers leading biomarker, computational, assay and biostatistics research to help manage the company’s innovation portfolio
Maintain a system of written documentation for project plans, intermediate reports, and closeout technical reports
Interface with internal and external advisory boards as needed
Train technical project leads on best practices
Requirements
  • Degree in any scientific discipline (biomedical preferred)
  • Background in project and program management with positions of increasing responsibility leading projects, programs, and portfolios
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex biotech/biomedical projects with internal and external dependencies
  • Mastery of working collaboratively under tight deadlines and balancing the needs of multiple key stakeholders
  • Results-oriented: superb follow-through, drive, and creative problem-solving 
  • Clear, positive, and proactive communicator in verbal and written communications
  • Skilled in influencing and decision-making with knowledge of best practices (e.g. balancing inquiry vs. advocacy, active listening, resolving conflict, decision-making frameworks)

  • PMP certification or Six Sigma experience
