Job Description

 

The Director, US Revenue Management Excellence, is a member of the cross-functional Pricing leadership team responsible for setting strategic direction for AbbVie’s revenue management system architecture, inclusive of Model N and Revitas.  This position leads strategic initiatives to drive continuous improvement in Pricing systems across US Commercial by leveraging strong business expertise combined with exceptional project management experience. 

 

Key Responsibilities include:

 

  • Leverage US pharmaceutical subject matter expertise to drive long term optimization of automation enabled Pricing processes, most notably those associated with AbbVie’s Model N revenue management solution. Critical to success will be the experience and ability to identify issues/risks, determine optimal solutions, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies. 

 

  • Collaborate with US Commercial Pricing leaders to ensure appropriate revenue management system capabilities are built and maintained to support compliant, effective, and efficient operations while considering total cost of ownership.

 

  • Coordinate vendor management for Model N in collaboration with Business Technology Solutions.  Model N operates in a niche solutions space specific to US Pharmaceutical Pricing, which requires strong US Pricing operations knowledge as well as exceptional project management skills.

 

  • Partner with US Commercial Finance Future Fit, Financial Shared Services and US Commercial BTS teams to ensure US Pricing concerns are addressed as part of the overall US Commercial business technology ecosystem.

 

  • Deliver clear and data driven recommendations to US Commercial senior leadership regarding optimal solutions to identified technology / business issues.

 

  • Provide ownership and stewardship of Model N and downstream reporting systems, which requires close coordination with Business Technology Solutions, US Pricing colleagues, Finance Shared Services, the SAP team, and third party vendors.

 

  • Establishes best practices and defines, implements and supports systems and processes associated with revenue management (gov’t. pricing, 340B, Medicaid claims processing, chargebacks, voluntary contracting, indirect customer maintenance, GTN, contract lifecycle management etc.) for AbbVie US Commercial business supporting varied product lines across multiple therapeutic areas.

 

  • Lead US Commercial returns operations teams to drive operational efficiency, as well as ensure compliance with AbbVie customer agreements and applicable laws.

 

  • Lead a team of 4 direct reports.

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5-10 years in the areas of US pharmaceutical revenue management, pricing, and gov’t price compliance.
  • 10-15 years project management 
  • 10 years Revenue Mgmt System (Model N, Revitas) Experience - System Implementation and User SME
  • Led business process transformational efforts focused on delivering organizational value while lowering total cost of ownership
  • Outstanding presentation skills focused on delivering succinct messages to senior mgmt.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem solving skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of U.S. compliance laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a multi-stakeholder environment.
  • 3-5 years management experience a strong plus.
