Python/Django Developer with Java Experience

MSC is searching for a Python/Django Developer to join our team supporting our client at the National Institutes of Health, (NIH), in Bethesda, MD. This position can be hybrid remote post-pandemic.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent years experience
• Applicant MUST have three solid years of Django application development.
• Solid knowledge of the principles of class-based object-oriented programming.
• Demonstrable experience in web development in Python/Django.
• Knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Experience with Java at an operational level
• Experience with SQL queries.
• Experience with git: creating and merging branches, commit, fetch, push, pull.
• Experience with ticketing system: create, maintain, close tickets.
• Experience with automated testing: unit tests, functional tests
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and techniques as needed.
• Strong understanding of the Django Object Relational Mapping (ORM).
• Experience with continuous deployment tools: automated deployment, user-triggered deployment
• Experience with the Django data migrations mechanism.
• Experience with Apache Solr enterprise search engine helpful.
