Scientist, Translational Research

The Role: BigHat Biosciences is seeking an exceptional, self-motivated individual to support the identification, validation, and experimental prosecution of high-value, disease-modifying therapeutic targets. This person will work closely with the Director of Translational Research.
Goals & Responsibilities

• Scour all available open intelligence sources including primary scientific literature, commercial reports, patent literature, and trade news to generate novel, actionable insights and opportunities for next-generation antibody therapeutics
• Work cross-functionally between Programs, Data Science, and Business teams to deliver comprehensive deep dives into target biology, translational risk, and commercial opportunity
• Identify opportunities where BigHat’s platform is uniquely capable of delivering transformative medicines to patients
• Collaboratively design ambitious proof of concept experiments to de-risk novel targets
• Present assessments to stakeholders including internal team members, BigHat leadership, and external advisors. 
• Growth opportunity to directly manage internal scientific and therapeutic programs

About You

• MS or PhD in Biology, Chemistry, or similar field, or MD, with 1+ years of industry experience or equivalent
• Stellar track record at top-tier institutions or companies
• Strong scientific background with demonstrated technical mastery in experimental biology or clinical medicine
• Passion for discovering exciting new insights from complex data sources, asking “What if?”
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with members of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
