The Role:

Moderna Medical Affairs is seeking a Strategy and Operations Lead to provide leadership across Medical Affairs. This leader will use their knowledge and understanding of business challenges to direct the development of new and improved business processes and an operating model across the teams that includes the quarterly and annual business planning process. Additionally, this individual will use their vast experience to integrate the teams across the function as well as with the Commercial and Brand business teams ensuring compliant and successful operations. The right candidate will bring business and market expertise to differentiate Moderna Medical Affairs.

Heres What Youll Do:

  • Understand the data strategy across Moderna and, with strong partnership with commercial, R&D, and digital, develop an integrated dashboard to direct the successful implementation of our operating model from which senior business leaders can glean strategic and tactical insights for making critical investment decisions

  • Lead the internal communication strategy for Medical Affairs utilizing deep understanding of customer needs to drive development and execution

  • In partnership with the therapeutic area teams and the regions, roll up the medical affairs global plans and ensure alignment cross-functionally in preparation for executive committee meetings and updates

  • Oversee appropriate congress planning, central and cross-regional operations, and onboarding for medical affairs to ensure a global approach.

  • Build and change the organization by streamlining processes, implement best practices and programs to ensure strategic and operational success

Heres What Youll Bring to the Table:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in biopharma industry, preferably in positions related to medical affairs strategy and operations

  • Proven track record operating in complex and fast-changing environments

  • Broad and comprehensive understanding of medical/legal/regulatory framework in biopharma

  • Broad and comprehensive understanding of of effective communication strategies with internal and external customers across key global markets

  • Strong communication skills with ability to influence decisions across functions, both inside and outside of Medical Affairs

  • Significant experience working with management and consulting with key business stakeholders, including an ability to influence for greater outcomes.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders, identify and manage issues to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs and recommendations.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action; excellent analytical skills and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks while working in a matrixed environment.
