Job Details

We are seeking an innovative Scientist to join our dynamic multidisciplinary group - New Targets Investigation (NTI). Within NTI, we seek to identify, characterize, and validate the function of genes critical to disease onset and progression. Informed by human genetics (Regeneron Genetics Center), NTI harnesses state-of-the-art VelociGene technology to generate genetically modified mouse models, interrogate the mechanistic underpinnings of human disease, and develop targeted therapeutics. We are looking for someone who will support the advancement of targets across multiple indication areas (cardiovascular, oncology, inflammation, metabolism) through the development and characterization in-vitro cell, organoid, and mouse models of disease.

In this role a typical day might include the following:

  • Investigate, develop, and validate novel disease relevant mouse models, which may include generation of cell specific targeting strategies, surgical manipulation, and genetic approaches.

  • Utilize genetic loss- and gain-of-function approaches for assessing target gene function in cell-based and in vivo models

  • Interrogate the interaction of pathways central to angiogenesis and vascular function in mouse tumor models

  • Develop in vitro and in vivo assays to interrogate the tumor microenvironment (endothelial / myeloid / lymphoid / stroma)

  • Work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Lead collaborative research projects

  • Perform data analysis, troubleshoot experiments, and record results in an electronic notebook

  • Present findings in team, department, and Regeneron leadership meetings

This role may be for you if you:

  • Have a desire to develop therapeutic modalities to address neovascular disease and tumorigenesis

  • Have a strong background in mouse tumor models, angiogenesis, vascular biology

  • Have strong communication and presentation skills

  • Enjoy participating in exciting cross-functional projects involving multiple teams

To be considered for this role, you must have a PhD in Oncology, Biochemistry / Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, or a related field, with 3-5 years post-doctoral experience in mouse tumor biology and angiogenesis. We need someone with a background in mouse tumor and angiogenic models. Experience in and knowledge of the study of angiogenic signaling pathways is strongly preferred. Competency in basic molecular biology and cloning methods is required. You should also have experience in developing primary cell-based and ex-vivo assays. Knowledge and experience in flow cytometry and immunophenotyping would be advantageous.
